This hotel was just lovely. It clearly has a colonial past; the bungalows have a camp-like feel -- simple, rustic and clean. The setting and grounds cannot be beat in Bagan -- graceful, well kept gardens, beautiful flowers, relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor restaurant is stunningly set on the banks of the river. Although I did not eat lunch... More

I stayed in this hotel 11 years ago. It was quaint then. Now it's just old, old and outdated. The wonderful: -The setting and location is great. -The staff is very helpful and friendly. -The food in restaurant was excellent. -Emu in the Spa was terrific. I didn't like: -The gray colored linens and towels. They appeared unclean. -The very... More

Water front Suites are fantastic. You can enjoy the Serenity, tranquility and exclusivity . I have been to Bagan more than 20 times . More than 15 times , I stayed in this hotel. Located just inside the old bagan, water front ( by the irrawaddy river) and just one fence divided with Myanmar Government State Guest House.300 meters to... More

What a terrific hotel! The setting is spectacular right on the river. The rooms are well appointed - we had a bungalow, off-set from the pool. If you can afford a river view room, get it. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms work. Breakfast and other meals are served in a fantastic setting right by the river - great... More

The hotel has a lot of potential: nice staff, good location in old bagan, by the river, nice garden, but: the facilities should be renovated. The swimming pool was dirty and some rooms are pretty old. I booked a junior suite (100usd/night) and the mattress was a foam one like 20years old, old bathroom and so on. We asked to... More

Beautiful grounds, breathtaking temple ruins in the hotel compound, friendly staff, but rooms and pool need some upgrades and better lighting. Breakfast was basic and poor. Pool and chairs around the pool were dirty but the view of the river was nice.

This hotel overlooked the river. Individual cottage-style units in the most beautiful garden setting. Was a wonderful place to come back to after a day out sight-seeing. Dinner in the open-air restaurant by the river in the evening was just lovely.

We spent a few nights at this hotel as part of a tour around Burma. Super place to stay, fantastic room overlooking the river (one morning we awoke to see locals ploughing the river side to sow their crops for the growing season during the dry months if the year) and great grounds. Well located too.

Fantastic hotel set in a secluded garden right above the Ayeyarwaddy river, just meters away from one Bagan's most impressive temples. The hotel has a beautiful, spacious, garden with lush vegetation. There is a pagoda set in the middle of the garden which is beautifully lit in the evening. The restaurant overlooks the river, and particularly the thai and burmese... More

We were disappointed with our Bagan Hotel River View experience. We have traveled two years, including one spent in 5 Southeast Asian countries so we think our expectations are generally reasonable and we typically give strong positive reviews. The good, the bad, the ugly...and the jetty follows. The good While the resort is very pricy, the setting is beyond gorgeous.... More
