We spent a few nights at this hotel as part of a tour around Burma. Super place to stay, fantastic room overlooking the river (one morning we awoke to see locals ploughing the river side to sow their crops for the growing season during the dry months if the year) and great grounds. Well located too.

Fantastic hotel set in a secluded garden right above the Ayeyarwaddy river, just meters away from one Bagan's most impressive temples. The hotel has a beautiful, spacious, garden with lush vegetation. There is a pagoda set in the middle of the garden which is beautifully lit in the evening. The restaurant overlooks the river, and particularly the thai and burmese... More

We were disappointed with our Bagan Hotel River View experience. We have traveled two years, including one spent in 5 Southeast Asian countries so we think our expectations are generally reasonable and we typically give strong positive reviews. The good, the bad, the ugly...and the jetty follows. The good While the resort is very pricy, the setting is beyond gorgeous.... More

Great location on the banks of the river where you have beautiful sunset views from the terrace where you get half price cocktails between 4 & 6pm. We loved the fact that there are even two beautiful temples in the grounds of the hotel. It is well situated next to the museum and in walking distance to 4 of the... More

I was so surprised by how wonderful our stay at the Bagan Hotel has been. We spent 3 nights here and it was magical. The staff at this place are so helpful and just nice. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The biggest surprise was to find the ruins in the hotel... Breathtaking!!!

The hotel is a series of one storey brick buildings spread along the Irrawaddy. The grounds are beautifully kept, lush with bougainvilleas and plants, and include two ancient pagodas, next to the riverside restaurant. Staff are very nice, even if sometimes communication can be difficult. The restaurant serves good food - which is nice because the nearest restaurant is 5... More

The hotel is located in the old bagan, where is close to nice pagoda. All staffs are nice and pleasant. Above all, the hotel decoration, the view of the restaurant by the river are very nice. I personally think that it should be four or might be five stars too! Oh there is an ATM machine here too, but when... More

A stunning garden hotel on the bank of the Irrawadi river! The property sprawls across a relatively large compound with beautifully laid out gardens with even it's own ancient pagoda! The deck restaurant offers beautiful views of the river Irrawadi with distant views of the mountain. The breakfast spread is not so great but the lunch/dinner menus are doable. However,... More

This hotel, like the others we stayed at in Myanmar, needs an update. We payed a bit more for the hotel than we normally do, to have a pool, which we used, but it was pretty murky, the deck boards were pretty scabby and the chair pads were non existent or pretty pitiful. The room was moderately clean but not... More
