The room was very basic and it had clean bedlinen. The bathroom was dirty and had only a bucket and only hot burning water. Staff were unfriendly and unwilling to help with any queries. There were some dirty dogs around the breakfast room trying to get sime food during breakfast.

The homestay is basic to say the least - we had a bucket of cold water for a shower, no toilet seat, no flush on the toilet, unclean bed sheets and many, many ants in the bathroom. You can hear absolutely everything outside the room and either side. We asked the owner about a bus to Makassar at the end... More

Rooms are basic but clean. However what really makes this place so good was the service of the owner John. He is a great guide, speaks English well, and showed us around the south of toraja which was truly beautiful. He also went out of his way to help me retrieve a forgotten item from Makassar, and arranged a good... More

The cheapest rooms are old rooms that aren't maintained. Good breakfast, coffee and tea, tamarillo jam and fresh homemade bread. The good English speaking guides for Toraja usually hangout here. The hotel seems to be popular with Indonesians even on low season. Close to restaurants and the local market, central location.

When we arrived at night from Makassar, they tried to cheat us and the only available room was the most expensive although there were only a few tourist. After a long time discussing, (surprise!) they have another room for 170IDR!!! Finally, we stayed for 6 nights...a really bad and expensive hotel, after 1 year travelling in Asia. The hot water... Wisma Maria I is a nice place where to stay in Rantepao. I booked a budget room (no hot shower). Price was 130 000 Rp. but it is easy to bargain to 100 000 Rp. Thing which I loved most was a breakfast. Best breakfast I had throughout my whole trip in Sulawesi. Only annoying thing was a loud noise... More

We were Friendly welcomed by the manager. We booked a room with hot shower, however the shower was that hot that we could not actually take a shower. When we turned the shower to cold water, it stopped. When sharing this with the manager, he could not really do something about this. The manager can help you book trekking tours... More

It's very modest hotel with cheap price. Don't expect 4 or 5 star service here, it just simply bed and breakfast, not suitable for fancy people who expect much about hotel in my opinion. The staffs are very friendly and timid. If you are foreigner, perhaps they looked like they're not friendly, it simply because they don't understand other language... More

The room isn't worth the cheap price. Hot water yes, but zero pressure and no possible shower, you'll finally use the bucket where you mix hot and cold water. The breakfast is simply amazing, totally worth the entire price of the room (170.000 Rp/room/night). Good position in Rantepao, strategically placed to visit all Tana Toraja region.

I paid the first night because we thought stay only one night, when I went to do check out the last day the short guy who works at reception... More
