Banyuwangi does not have many hotels which are great value: clean, great welcome and service, hot shower etc This hotel has all of that though. Salim and his family welcome you, give advice and help which is very useful and enhances your stay. salim proposed spontaneously to take us to the train for booking our train tickets, his wife showed... Although the town itself wasn't so much of an attraction, the nearby Mt Ijen and the direct connection to Bali certainly provided a reason for us to stay there. I want to give a shout out particularly for the manager of the Hotel, Salim, who picked my buddy and I up from the train station at 430am, and he did... More

This was an experience I have no wish to repeat. Admittedly this hotel is cheap but even so, clean and cheerful will do! Let me list our grievances: 1. Air conditioning only working in 1 room. When we complained we were told that it was the same temperature in both rooms (i.e. we were liars!). After numerous complaints, and very... More

Amazing stay with Western comforts. Prices for food and excurision very reasonable. AC and sat TV in every room. Centrally located in Banyuwangi. Two thumbs up! The restaurant offers great nasi and bami boreng. The rendang could be better but the owner's helpfulness make up for any minor service flaws.

We've been in this hotel for 3 weeks. Salim, Gill and all the other employees are very nice! And they can arrange almost everything for you. Easy rooms with a small flatscreen television, just a good bed, a small bathroom with toilet and a shower with hot and cold water. The food at the restaurant is good. There is also... More

Located in the town centre, we were very welcomed by Salim, team & his family, Above all, room wwas well kept, clean, with A/C and hot water. We could arrange a day trip to Ijen easily. We had decent food there. We could have stayed longer here to see what this paced region has to offer.

A good place to stop off when you get off the train from the West or the ferry from Bali. The town is a good 15mins ride south of the stations/terminals but if you book in advance and give the hotel a ring on your arrival the hotel driver will pick you up for nada. We organised the Ijen Crater... More

I had a hard time finding a place in banyuwangi that was cheap and clean. I came across Ritansa Roebuck and it turned out to be a good deal. Unfortunately I had to leave early in the AM as I would've enjoyed a full nights sleep here. 150k got you a room with private shower (hot), tv, air con and... More

Ritansa Roebuck, a quaint and clean hotel in Banyuwangi and is owned by an Australian with the same name. I’m here to use the free wifi. “Help yourself,” says Gil, who tells me about the launch of a navy catamaran, a 68 meter state of the art of craft that was built here in Banyuwangi. “It means the place of...
