OK location near to the crater, the service in the restaurant was good with the local delicacy of Impala being served for dinner on one evening. No internet service. Unfortunately there is an African dance played every night and will want money from the audience at the end of the show. Also, the inevitable porter carrying the bags to the... more

The Highview was a nice place to stay with a breath taking view. The rooms were simple, small, but cozy. The rooms were a little pricy for what you get. The staff was nice and very accommodating. We had a great dinner spread, with local cuisine. They had local tribal dance and music. There was also a small local masai... more

Not much better than a backpackers. Rooms noisy and staff unhelpful. Weird heating thing for hot water - was not explained when we checked in so most of us got cold showers. Power failures during dinner. Food adequate. more

We loved the highview hotel. It is located on a quiet spot in the hills of the ngorongoro conservation area - the views were wonderful! The food was delicious (huge 5 course meal) and the staff really aimed to provide top-notch service. Our rooms were comfortable & clean, with a lovely porch to sit out on and enjoy the sunset.... more

The Highview hotel offers excellent quality for a (relatively) low price, in an area where a night's accomodation can cost 10 times the price which the Highview charges. The hotel is owned by the safari and mountaineering company Zara Tours, but is open to everyone. The rooms are in a seperate 2 story building away from the reception area, restaurant... more

My wife and I stayed at the Highview for a couple nights and found absolutely beautiful views and wonderful service. Upon leaving we lost a painting that had been made by one of their local artists at the hotel. I contacted the hotel a year later and asked if they could ask the artist to repaint the picture and send... more

When i booked to stay at highview i had no idea where i was going or what to expect, although i just became open minded from the pictures i seen on the website. Wow, was my impression the minute i arrived there i was welcomed by hot towels and staff dressed in the most stlyish african uniform. I couldn't believe... more

The Highview is affiliated with Zara Tours out of Moshi so I am not certain that other folks can stay there unless it is booked through Zara. We stayed there 2 nights during our safari...which was excellent by the way. We were greeted with a hot towel to wash off the days safari dust and tea or coffee. The hotel... more

Our small group stayed at the Highview Hotel in late October as part of two weeks in Tanzania. We climbed Kilimanjaro with Zara Travel (all four of our group made it to the summit!) and then headed to Lake Maynara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater for a driving safari. After three days camping in Lake Maynara and the Serengeti (as well... more
