We stayed at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on the first night of our safari. The lodge is beautifully decorated, and the views of the crater are spectacular. The room we had was a bit extravagant for what we were expecting for a safari, but we enjoyed it of course. One really nice thing about the room was that they put hot... more

We started out our safari at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. We enjoyed our stay there just fine. The rooms were big, and the showers were super. See <http://ellieandabbie.typepad.com/bright_eyes_blue_eyes/2009/12/ngorongoro-crater.html> if you're interested in more details. more

We stayed two nights at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge during our 7 day safari. The resort is in an amazing location. The view from the lobby is breath taking. Standing at the pool overlooking the caldron is equal to viewing the Grand Canon or the Great Wall. Rooms were neat and clean. You are high enough that mosquito nests are... more

We had a wonderful time staying at the Sopa while on Safari. The food was good and the location can't be beat. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. more

We stayed at the Sopa lodge at Ngorongoro crater for only one night but had a great impression. It has a beautiful vista. The service was great, the food was wonderful. The rooms were clean with plenty of hot water and electricity through the night. Truly a 4 star experience! Would highly recommend it. We even saw a buffalo on... more

Get a cocktail or beer from the bar, settle into a lounger and watch the sun set over Ngorongoro crater - simply wonderful. Ngorongoro Sopa has an admirable location with easy (relatively - there's really no escaping those roads!) to the crater - an advantage if you are planning an early morning game drive. Our room was large and spacious,... more

Myself and new husband were looking forward to a night of luxury during our week long safari on honeymoon. After night of camping the huge rooms/beds/showers were a total delight! Views were amazing and sunset was beautiful with a cold drink in hand. The food was nice and despite not being typically 'african' proved to be popular. A good selection... more

We had a view over the crater, that was very special.. Very nice, big rooms, didn't expect this luxury on safari to be honest. Staff was friendly and the food was good (usually buffet), lot of choice on breakfast (buffet). It is a big hotel. If you are looking for small hotel or cozy, this is not for you. I... more

This was the nicest Sopa lodge out of Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro - the views were fantastic over the crater and the rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The rooms have huge glass windows which also offer the same amazing view. As it is at high altitude, mosquitoes are not an issue which is a relief, however this does mean... more

Stayed one night in July. Best of the Sopa lodges we visited in Tanzania. Rooms are again insanely large with plenty of unused space, but the beds were comfortable, the shower hot and consistent (just remember the designated hot water times), and the views fantastic. We watched hyrax and monkeys outside of our door and on our roof. Restaurant is... more
