As good as anything you'll find near Ngorongoro. Incredible views on the edge of the crater. Most rooms have views into the crater. Absolutely lovely! more

I stayed there on May 25 and 26, 2009. The location of the lodge is amazing. You can see the crater from the poolside and most of the rooms. Probably the best thing you can do is to have a beer in the poolside to watch the sunset. The pool was closed for repair work. It is possible to see... more

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our honeymoon safari. On arrival we were given a fruit juice, and then taken through the hotel to our room - the view that greeted us was out of this world! The hotel is situated at the other end of the crater to most of the others, so although it... more

This was our first accommodations on our safari and it did not disappoint. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathrooms seemed very modern. Much nicer than any place we had stayed in the larger cities and towns of Tanzania. The view from the room over the crater were nice, but there is no open air balcony. It's enclosed which... more

As the more recent reviews of this lodge have stated it is a very nice place. Stayed two nights in mid march (09)while visiting the crater. The lodge was not crowed. The rooms are immense - newly furnished, marble bathrooms with grand shower, king-sized very comfortable beds, Crater visible from window ( we were on the ground level and not... more

Was a bit worried about this hotel after reading reviews from this site. I was very pleasantly surprised! Stayed there 2 nights. The food in the restaurant was very good, the service excellent (better than the serengeti sopa lodge we stayed in afterwards) and the food very good and plentiful (we didn't ever have room for dessert!). Room was huge,... more

really nice hotel, only stayed one night but were very impressed with the lovely room overlooking the crater. Entertainment and food was good but be aware of drink prices, we decided to have 1/2 caraff of the house red wine and it cost us something like $20, destroyed the experience somewhat. more

I stayed here for one night with my wife after spending the day in Ngorongoro Crater. We were greeted with warm towels on arrival. At check-in, I asked for an upper-level room close to the center of the property to get the best view. The staff member at the front desk seemed as though he was obliging, yet we ended... more

Spent 3 nights here in February. Not a luxury hotel, but it was better than I expected from previous reviews. Beautiful setting and layout. Found the staff and service in general to be excellent. Always greeted with friendly smiles. Food was very good. Great location to reach the crater quickly. Gorgeous views. I wasn't here for the pool, so it... more

We stayed in Sopa Lodges for two nights in December 2008. The rooms and hotel itself is nice and spacious with very nice overview to the crater. I like the interior of the hotel. Should agree with comments about pool - it was freezing (no more than +18C). There are only two things why I would not recommend this hotel:... more
