While we were at Ndutu in April, the wildebeest migration was in full swing all around us. We had great success on game drives seeing lions, cheetahs, giraffes, hyenas, flamingos, and countless wildebeest/zebra. So, in that sense, it was the perfect location. The room was clean and comfortable, but small and lacking any particular charm or character. Food is generally... more

Ndutu Lodge overall is a nice place to stay but there are some disappointments with the rooms. The rooms are laid out along a path in blocks, some are 3 rooms in a block, others are 2 & some are single stand alone rooms. The individual rooms appear to be all the same. Positives: As with a lot of Tanzania... more

Although Ndutu Lodge isn't as plush and fancy as some of the other safari lodges, what it lacks in luxury it more than makes up for in quality food. We opted for vegetarian the first night as they were serving beef and the staff remembered our preference for the duration of the trip. The vegetarian meals were truly a treat... more

Ndutu Lodge advertises itself as a lodge with tonnes of character, great food and charming atmosphere. In fact it's in a ok location, the rooms are pretty basic (the most basic we stayed in during a week's safari, in five different lodges), the food is average at best and the staff - on the night we stayed there - weren't... more

Ndutu Lodge was absolutely magical! We stayed there for two nights, and witnessed some great animal activity in the area. The staff were friendly and the rooms felt a bit more like home than the lodges we had visited previously. One morning we got up to se the sunrise (and we had a very early gamedrive) it which is quite... more

Beautiful place and location, very friendly staff, nice and interesting manager. Would recommend 100%. We were then end of Nov 2008, saw plenty of wildebeest, zebras and birds. We had to drive to inside the Serengeti park to see cheetahs. Loved it. more

Loved it here. Room was great, shower even better. So good to be able to sit outside our room looking out over the lake, watching the Fisher's Lovebirds as the sun set through the trees. Loved the dining room and bar/lounge areas, a great deal of charm throughout, very 'homely' in a cosy, reassuring sort of way. Staff great, so... more

Ndutu Lodge is in the middle of nowhere. We travelled a bumpy 2 hours to get to what we thought was the middle of the bush. We were right. It has several chalets facing the open bush, we saw Hyena, guinea fowl and dik dik all within 100m from our room. This is the place to come to get away... more

We arrived at Ndutu Lodge after several nights of camping in the Serengeti. What an amazing lodge. Absolutely loved it! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the grounds immaculate. The staff were all very friendly. The bar/restaurant area is fantastic for a few drinks at the end of the day. We found the food to be nice as well.... more

Nothing bad to say about this place, and I agree with most other reviewers, though I think the food was on par with other lodges we stayed at (other than Gibbs Farm which has fantastic lunches). Three things about Ndutu that I didn't see mentioned in other reviews: 1. The water contains a good deal of soda (from the soda... more
