We just returned from a ten day safari experience in Tanzania that included the Crater lodge, Serengeti Under Canvas, and Lake Manyara Lodge - all andBeyond properties. They ALL exceeded our expectations (which were quite high), and the Crater Lodge property was the favorite of both my wife and myself. Our two adult children loved them all but liked the... More

Difficult to describe this fantastic hotel in a fantastic setting with fantastic service. Not cheap but considering what you get and where is it, it is a real fantasy. The service of a five start hotel in one of the major world cities on top of the Ngorongoro Crater, which must be one of the most beautiful places in Earth.... More

Such an eclectic property is such an amazing location. The hot bath with rose petals after a long but fabulous day in the crater is beyond fabulous. It would be very easy to enjoy a day of leisure at this property as there is plenty to see and do there, without going into the crater. Staff are fabulous. The 'gym... More

Gorgeous! Otherworldly! We arrived at the airstrip and were whisked off the the lodge by Joseph, who would be our ranger for our stay. The drive from the airstrip to the lodge was long, but beautiful. It was quite misty and foggy, which obstructed the views as we made our way along. We were greeted by staff members singing. Very... So please take this review with a grain of salt. Pros: 1) Lodging: The rooms are quite stately and very, very elegant. Starting with the bed, it is a king with some of the softest linen you will find in Africa. The rooms are built out of warm colored wood, which makes you just want to curl up and relax... More

It is hard not to repeat all of the highlights mentioned by the other reviewers . This lodge really does take your breath away. The stunning rooms have a panoramic view of the worlds largest caldera at 2,500 meters above sea level with cosy fire places, dressing table with a view, a bath with yet another view and even the... When you walk into the main building your breath is taken away. It has chandeliers in every room. You go directly into a meeting room that has crystal decanters filled with sherry, and is served in crystal goblets. This is where everyone meets before dinner. The room is filled with many antiques, and amazing stories. You feel at home, not... More
