We booked this as part of a package and not sure of the value for money. Rooms are clean and decorated with Masai fabrics and we received a welcome basket of fruit which was a nice touch, especially the watermelon carved into a heart. The buffet appealed to all tastes - meat lovers as well as vegetarians- and quite generous.... More

Well-priced, with lovely gardens and really good food. It was recommended by a friend who raved about the buffet, and it was truly very good. The rooms were clean, otherwise unremarkable. Staff were welcoming.

I really think people who review on this site sometimes review the experiences around the hotel rather than the accomodations themselves. You might have a wonderful day at the crater (if you can afford it, $420 for two people in their own car) but to then come back to an overpriced hotel, restaurant and bar when there are so many... Seems the little town of Karatu has set itself up as a perfect stop to and from Ngorogor/arusha. Octagon has great gardens and small but pleasant rooms along with the best food of the safari. Prices seem to be very reasonable, although as we had booked this as part of a package it was hard to know what we really... More

This lodge locates in a small local village, but inside the lodge is like in heaven! Totally surprising, kind and with great hospitality staffs, beautiful gardens, calm and clean place. Above them all, what we really loved was their breakfast, it was my best ever!!! We stayed over 2 nights there, and were looking forward the breakfast for 2nd morning.... More

My husband and I stayd in Octagon Lodge recently for 1 night after being at the beautifull Ngorongoro Crater. It's about 1 hours drive from the crater and just at the outside of a little African town. I would like to start by saying that the staff were absolutely wonder full, really friendly and very attentive. What I am about... More

My two days stay at The Logde, has left a bit of my heart behind at the place and I will never forget the kindness and hospitality shown from the hotelmanagers. The beauty and tranquility of the place is forever branded in my memory. I have to come back some day soon and enjoy their fabulous coffee and chocolate truffles... More

Our stay ended too quickly. 4 days and 3 nights was not enough to be surrounded with lovely individual chalets, beautifully manicured gardens, and most attractive eating area and unusual bar/lounge area for relaxation and libations. Each breakfast and dinner were prepared and presented in such a way that were always delicious and plentiful. All the cooking was homemade and... More

We stayed at Octagon Lodge following a friends recommendation, and I would definitely recommend it to others. The staff at the Lodge were very friendly and helpful, and our safari guide had infinite patience with our many questions! We only had two days to spend on safari, but we were offered a choice of intinerary and our trips to Lake... More

I stumbled upon this little gem when investigating holidays in Tanzania on the internet. I booked my entire safari holiday with Octagon Safaris and the service they provided was first rate. I was on safari for a week and we spent four nights at The Octagon Safari Lodge. I would recommend this place strongly and we all agreed the overall... More
