What a wonderful place! You are greeted with smiles and friendship! A team genuinely concerned of your safe travels and special time in their establishment. Our butler prepared lunch overlooking the coffee plantations and our room was simply spectacular! The food and service made our stay there even better! Closely located to the crater we enjoyed amazing safaris and wonderful... More

The Manor has got to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Agreed it has old world charm but has all the new world luxury. My room was very comfortable and spent maybe a little too much time soaking in the bath. The team is fantastic and I couldn't have felt more looked after. Moreover their... More

Roddy and his team run a world class operation. He and his team could not have been more helpful and attentive. The rooms were gorgeous, the food excellent and the service superb. I could not recommend this hotel under Roddy's leadership more highly.

It is shocking and negligent that The Manor is not one of the "100 Best Small Hotels in the World" as we have not stayed in a finer establishment in all our travels! Camilla and Roddy run a first class hotel, truly a gem! Peter was an outstanding butler who went above and beyond. We even returned from Safari to... More

We arrived at The Manor after a safari in Kenya. We have only minor complaints which I will get to. First some more background. The property is up in the hills, some distance from the air strip and perhaps an hour from the crater. (So you will be up early for any day trips.) It is an absolutely gorgeous hotel... More

Dear Justin Thank you for taking the time to post such a comprehensive review. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and, in particular, your day trip to the Crater – it’s great to hear that our bush lunch was such a hit. With regards to your transportation points, it's tricky to remember the... More

Incredible setting, private cottages, terrace, views. Stayed with family after tented safari...what a treat. Food is outstanding, people are incredible, views are unreal, and coffee is great too. Took a walking tour of the coffee plantation with Jerome, and day trips to Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Cottage services were impeccable with baths and rosemary and rose petals......love this place!

My Husband and I stayed here with our 1 1/2 year old son, to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The managers Camilla and Roddy who have a son of similar age were kind enough to have their nanny watch our son too so we could have some time alone. Which we more than appreciated as all parents can relate to.... More

Our stay at The Manor at Ngorongoro Crater was simply magical. The Manor sits atop the Shanghai La coffee plantation and the feeling you get when you arrive through the gates is as if you have stepped back in time. Our hostess, Margareth, met us at the door with cool drinks and a smile that lit up her face. Roddy,... More

Took this in as part of a sky safari. It was unexpectedly luxurious giving the feel of a colonial plantation residence ... Which isn't surprising as it is situated in the 'Shanghai la' coffee plantation. Large communal rooms with wooden paneling and olde worlde decor. The bedrooms which were in separate cottages were spacious and well appointed including open fires... More

The Manor at Ngorongoro Crater is truly a luxury hotel. 5 of us stayed in 3 rooms in a cottage on the property. Exquisite! Large central rooms for sitting, dining, and library were over the top. Like a mansion transformed into a hotel (which it is). Food was superb and best on our trip. Staff was most welcoming.
