2nd time here.extremely well located. Highlight was seeing a Bush Pig after dinner just off the deck. The view and proximity are far more appealing than lodges w crater views where I've stayed several times as animals come around here especially at night and usually one is gone all day. Food is very flavourful. Rooms are basic with a lovely... More

Look if your looking for the Holiday Inn Nogorongoro you shouldn't stay here. This place is awesome rustic. From the room fireplaces to the huge fireplace in the resturant you will feel like you are on a Safari. The showers are hot if you don't waste alot of water and the rooms well a little chilly untill they lite your... More

I stayed at the Rhino Lodge on March 6th after leaving the Serengeti National Park in order to be close to the Ngorongoro Crater for the next day's Safari within the Crater. After having a beer or two with my trusted guide and now good friend, Emmason Mshana of Wildbug Adventures, he quickly returned to my room before dinner shouting... More

We stayed at Rhino Lodge the night before descending into Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge does not have a view of the crater - which makes it less expensive - but it was close enough for us to get an early start to see the crater. The rooms are nothing special, but don't be surprised if the lush grounds outside your... More

Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge is an economical option and while it has something of a motel feel to it, the rooms are comfortable and the food was good. Both dinner and breakfast were served buffet style. It is about 20 minutes to the crater entrance, and there is not much of a view from the rooms.

We stayed here unexpectedly after almost having to sleep in a very basic dirty camp called simba. It was one of the last rooms available and they had one, so we were very happy. Went for dinner, great room with lovely fireplace, warm welcome and conversation with the manager. A lovely stay!

No wifi,no swimming pool,no good furnishing,to live in the Rhino lodge is to stay with a sound of silence, unless the buffalos 50 meters far away which were visiting you at the night made a noise... The most impressive thing was the dinning room,a fireplace kept the room warm and the people relax. The food was not bad. The second was the... More

Not sure what some who gave them 3-4 stars are looking for. But after staying in some great tented camps, it was nice to have a solid large room for our one night there. Plenty of hot water and time to charge camera batteries. The room we had, had a back porch which was cool. We drove 25 min to... More

11/1/14 - We arrived about 6pm after a long day on the road. Welcome drink and towel provided and shown to our room, I had read Maasai ladies came from the local homesteads to sell their jewellery and souvenirs and these were laid out by reception, so we took some time to have a look and buy. I also liked... More

The feeling of place is from the 1970s – 1980s state-owned accommodation industry. We slept in the family room. It is rather basic, consisted of one double bed and two beds above each other. The restaurant hall is rather large, service not very attending, and buffet food basic. The view to the inner and back yards is attractive. The receptionist... More
