Clean, beautiful hotel, with a nice garden. Relatively friendly service and with good food in the restaurant. A bit away from Moshi, but on the other hand closer to the Machame route entrance. The only thing I missed a bit was airconditioning in the room; with +30C in the day, it takes a while into the night before temperatures go... More

I decided to spend a Valentine's weekend with my wife at the hotel. I made reservation through Protea website (www.proteahotels.com) and got confirmation email. On arrival, the receptionist didn't find my reservation in their system and told me the only way to confirm reservation is by paying full in cash. The receptionist completely disregarded my printed copy of confirmation email... More

I will make the Aishi Protea hotel my Moshi base from now on. Yes, it is more remotely located - so if you want to be in town then other options in either Moshi or Arusha might be preferable - but the hotel is great, the staff all very helpful and the food excellent. The welcome drink and face towel... More

I went on a trip to Africa with my eighteen year old son. Thank you for a pleasant stay before and after a successful walk to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Clean, nice food, nice giftshop (good prices and quality) and a very friendly staff.

The best way to describe this hotel is "scenic". serene views and surrounded by lush greenery on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Stayed just one night in March 2013. As it was the low season , we were the only guests at the Hotel and we enjoyed our stay quite much. The staff was nowhere to be seen and we... More

A lovely hotel, with beautiful surroundings. Our rooms were beautiful and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I don't think you will find a better hotel for your Kilimanjaro climb. We really appreciated the luxury when we came down from the mountain. Breakfast was great and the rest of the menu was ok.

First place we stayed after arriving in Tanzania. We arrived late but the staff was expecting us and kept the kitchen and dining room open for us. Food was good. We enjoyed each meal. We stayed there prior to a safari (versus Kilimanjaro). The staff was great, very pleasant and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds... More

We paid $160 a night. The accommodations weren't BAD, but for what we paid this was way over-priced. There was only 1 other gentleman staying at the entire hotel when we were there. Hotel is also really out of the way of the city. One other thing that really annoyed me: They had elephant tusks in a few different places... More

I recently stayed at this hotel on my journey to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro. The rooms are lovely and the general surroundings of the hotel are gorgeous. The pool facilities are great too. Staff are friendly and I you are climbing Kilimanjaro Machame Route this is a great base for your climb. The staff are more geared to these types of... More

I think that this hotel is set up for groups who are climbing Kilimanjaro. They didn't seem to be able to give me much in the way of service They almost tried to discourage me from coming. I should have taken the hint but I hoped to see the mountain. I booked and paid through Expedia and they didn't have... More
