Québec, Canada. 2009-01-22 We arrived in Moshi by bus on Dec. 26. The hotel driver was waiting for us at the bus terminal. The hotel is situated about 10 km from Kili's gate. Family style hotel and restaurant. Really moderate prices. Real nice gardens and very good services at restaurant, office, laundry, bar, ... They've organized our tailormade climb of... more

We used a hotel crew to climb Kilimanjaro via the Machame route and were happy with their service. The hotel loaned us a sleeping bag and thermorest and both were more than adequate and in very good condition as was the tent. We were well looked after by the guides and crew with tea brought to our tent every morning,... more

I stayed at Marangu hotel as part of an organsied climb up Mt Kilimanjaro. On arrival we were delighted to see comfy beds having been in a tent for the previous week. However, not all rooms are as plush as others...but all the basics are there. The food was very good and there was plenty of it at breakfast and... more

We climbed Kili with the Marangu hotel in June 2008. The staff were really helpful and informative in thier e-mails and were very paitent in answering my hundreds of questions! We camped in the grounds the night before our climb as this was much cheaper (free!) than staying in the hotel. They lent us a tent and set everything up... more

We had a wonderful time at the Marangu Hotel and on Kilimanjaro. The atmosphere, the staff, the food, the accommodations – we were just delighted. We really appreciated the extensive briefing we were given before our climb and the care and attention the staff took to make sure we were well prepared. The crew also did a fantastic job looking... more

I stayed at the Marangu Hotel for 2 nights in Dec 07 and went on a 5-day Marangu trail Kili hike. Not much to say about the hotel; it's basic, but clean and pricing seems reasonable for Tanzania standard. Of course, it is not a Grand Hyatt. But if you are looking for a luxury holiday experience, you might better... more

The Marangu is a very good hotel near the base of Kili that also organizes treks up the mountain. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel has a lot of nice common areas like a wonderful bar and some lovely outdoor seating. The rooms are fine but nothing to rave about and the food is pretty good for the area.... more

I researched quite carefully before doing the climb, and went with the hotel due to their vast experience and membership of the Kili porters' association. The climb was very well organised and the staff were extremely friendly and supportive - I felt in safe hands. They have done this many, many times. I had most of my own gear, but... more

I went with several friends to hike Kilimanjaro and was told that the Marango Hotel was a good outfitter for the climb as well as a good hotel to set up a safari. The hotel is an older coffee plantation and is nice in its accommodations but once the climb and the safari were paid for, I found that the... more
