We stayed at this hotel in connection to our Kilimanjaro climb and safari trip. The hotel was relatively nice - not exactly luxurious with the inevitable cold showers and small holes in the mosquito net as is often the case in Africa, but the staff was friendly and the only real annoyance - the long walk to the town -... more

Freshly painted, pretty grounds, plenty of food at reasonable price. Rooms are nothing fancy, dated, but clean. Convenient for Kilimanjaro climb. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. Only advice is, get money exchanged in town and pay with local currency. The hotel screws you on the exchange rate. more

Springlands was a great home base for our safari & Kilimanjaro climb. The staff were very helpful. The outdoor terrace was lush & pretty. Rooms were clean and comfortable, food was very good. The pool was a great way to cool off during the day. At one point one of our showers didn't drain properly, but otherwise we had no... more

I stayed here a few nights whilst doing a Kilimanjaro Tour. The hotel itself was a 5 minute taxi ride out of downtown Moshi but they do offer a regular shuttle service into town. It does cost a couple of dollars to use it though. The rooms are on the smaller side but comfortable. I had problems with my toilet... more

I stayed at the Springlands two days before and four days after my Kilimanjaro climb. The hotel was well maintained. The staff was professional. The housekeeper, Jackalyn, was on top of my room every day, so a thumbs up for her. They really want everyone to succeed on their climb, and the gear rental office made sure I was adequately... more

My husband and I have travelled a lot lately and our standards for hotels has changed dramatically. If I were not ready to experience a hotel like this, I would say it was pretty bad. But, considering it's location (Africa), it wasn't that bad. The rooms were clean, and we had a fan to keep us cool, a western toilet,... more

Well.....where to start. When we got in our rooms, we were greeted with mice....upon going out, we learned that mice were in many rooms. The tables outside the rooms had empty beer bottles for nearly 24 hours...with crumbs, bottles, etc. lying around to attract living things. The shower drain didn't work flooding the bathroom area. Meals weren't served on time....and... more

We climbed Kili with Zara Tours, and this hotel was part of the package. The climb was fabulous- can't say enough great things about our guide Mikao and his team of cooks and porters!!! The Springlands hotel was well staffed and comfortable, and it seemed especially nice after a week in a tent. Beware the mosquitoes, though.... more
