I stayed here for 2 nights before my climb and one night after. Location: I liked the fact that the hotel was in Shantytown and since it is gated, it is very safe even at night. During the day, it is a short walk from a few eateries including a pizza joint, Indian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and Woodlands Supermarket... More

This hotel seems to have made its specialty with the trekkers. I still wonder why the travel agency put us in that hotel as we are a family with two young kids, our aim was only to have a view on the Kilimanjaro, not to climb it, but the only view point is from the very far corner of the... More

+ clean rooms + comfortable beds + decent food + pleasant location + friendly staff - No free Wi-Fi We stayed at Sal Salinero for one night prior to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I enjoyed the hotel but do not understand why in this day and age hotels still charge for Wi-Fi. Therefore, only four stars out of five.

Stayed here for 3 nights total and overall enjoyed it very much. A very well kept property, with friendly staff and decent food in the restaurant. The room before the climb had water pressure issues in the shower, but was a nice large room with a comfortable bed. The room I had after the climb was amazing. Nice and large,... More

We stayed here before and after our Kilimanjaro climb. I must say that any place that had a warm shower after climbing kili rates highly on in my books. I enjoyed my stay there purely because of the positive energy and atmosphere that was around the bar from all the post- kili climbers!!!! About the hotel though:- Pros: Clean Quiet... More

The sal Salerno is a very special lace to stay. I stayed with a group before and after climbing mt Kilimanjaro. The staff could not be more helpful and the hotel was comfortable and welcoming. This hotel is an absolute gem.

As you make your way from the airport to the hotel, you can get a bit nervous, as there is not much around you. So by the time you are almost at the hotel, you dont know what to expect. At least this is what happened in my case. And..I was pleased with the surprise.. Nice bar area, in the... More

Stayed here before the inevitable Kilimanjaro climb and was impressed with the calm layout of the bungalow type bedrooms, making the hotel low rise and pretty. As mentioned elsewhere the food is a bit simple and repetitive and the service can be great or poor depending on who you meet. The wifi is a let down as it's only in... More

The Sal Salinero was a beautiful property with clean, nice rooms. We stayed in a cottage. The staff was very accommodating and hospitable. The bartender, Vickson, took great care of us for dinner and drinks. We watched the World Cup when available either at the bar or a large screen was set up on the grass. Great place to stay... More
