Was told in advance to request one of the rooms (hut style) by reception - Have stayed here twice and both times have been impressed with the clean good sized rooms and friendly staff. Bar staff are a treat after a long day in the office !! Food is rather basic , but all in all a good clean hotel

The place looked great. People came there to get wedding photos. The food was tasty and the service was always great. Had everything you needed. Pool, bar, food and nice rooms. Only thing I couldn't handle was the evenings when garbage was being burned nearby. Id suggest shutting all windows by supper time.

I stayed here pre and post-Kili climb, with a different room each time. The rooms are a great size and perfectly adequate, as are the bathrooms. The restaurant is reasonable, but service is very slow. Ditto the bar. The gardens, grounds and pool are all lovely. If you're staying on a weekend, expect to see wedding parties in the grounds... The hotel is run down, faucets are falling down & they provided used toiletries like the shower gel & lotion (gross). But most disappointing is the breakfast. The Hotel serves previous day beef stew for breakfast. Breakfast is like hostel type. No sausages or bacon is served on the buffet they lots of cold bakery stuff which are low quality.... More

I stayed in this hotel prior to and after a Kilimanjaro trek, we had 2 nights thrown in by the tour operator however when we had to stop for a 3rd night after summiting early it cost $150!! I’ll tell you why I was so shocked at that price. Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful, everyone I spoke... More

I recently stayed at this hotel for a night before and one night after a Kilimanjaro trek. Some positives: hot water both nights, nice hotel grounds, quiet bar area, nice outdoor pool and good restaurant on site, free Wifi, friendly staff, safe (gated with security). Some negatives: very loud air conditioning unit one night and none the second, very leaky... More

I stayed here for 2 nights before my climb and one night after. Location: I liked the fact that the hotel was in Shantytown and since it is gated, it is very safe even at night. During the day, it is a short walk from a few eateries including a pizza joint, Indian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and Woodlands Supermarket... More

This hotel seems to have made its specialty with the trekkers. I still wonder why the travel agency put us in that hotel as we are a family with two young kids, our aim was only to have a view on the Kilimanjaro, not to climb it, but the only view point is from the very far corner of the... More

+ clean rooms + comfortable beds + decent food + pleasant location + friendly staff - No free Wi-Fi We stayed at Sal Salinero for one night prior to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I enjoyed the hotel but do not understand why in this day and age hotels still charge for Wi-Fi. Therefore, only four stars out of five.

Stayed here for 3 nights total and overall enjoyed it very much. A very well kept property, with friendly staff and decent food in the restaurant. The room before the climb had water pressure issues in the shower, but was a nice large room with a comfortable bed. The room I had after the climb was amazing. Nice and large,... More
