We were impeccably welcomed by our host, who explained to us the Victorian house's history, and his dedication to maintaining its comfortable elegance. His passion for such a fine building shows in the suitably respectful choice of furniture and decor we found in the Feather Baron Luxury Suite - reasonably fine antiques and delicate china, rich upholstery and warm hues.... What a beautiful guesthouse in this lovely town.We stopped over for the night and had a really nice full breakfast- with freshly baked scones - before we travelled down to cape town. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything that we needed- including tea/coffee in the room. The owner recommended a very nice restaurant - 50 metres down the... More

We arrived to a friendly we'll one just after dark on Friday evening. Nick took us to our lovely warm room. Everything was perfect and beautifully appointed. He recommended a great restaurant a few meters down the raid that was great, Ploka. Our breakfast was great too. Perfect spot to go to the valley of Desolation, stunning. We will stay... More

I highly recommend staying at this Guest House. It is a beautiful Victorian building and the style is carried through the entire hotel. We were upgraded to a suite and no extra charge and got a second bedroom at a reduced rate as they weren't full on the night we visited. The hotel is owner run and it shows. The... More

What a wonderful stop over we had for one night. Beautiful surroundings, clean and staff that go out of their way for you. Gardens spectacular, and breakfast was awesome. We did not book in advance and just arrived in Graaff-Reinet took the first street after the Spur and found this little treasure, and lucky enough to find a room there.

This is a real find in Graaff Reinet. It says 'gracious living' on it's strap line and it is certainly that. We stayed as 2 couples, and had the Honeymoon room, and the Feather Baron suite, both were beautifully appointed, and the furnishings matched the house. The bathrooms were very good, with plenty of towels and toiletries, and the beds... More

First impression on arrival-wow! It didn't disappoint. Lovely host, Nico, Superb room [Lavender Room] with excellent sleep quality. Beautifully furnished. Nice fresh cooked breakfast served by delightful staff. Yes, agree there could be a few more sun loungers round pool.Great location for walking round town and restaurants. If you have a quibble, just mention it to Nico. My wife thought... More

We stayed for 2 nights and the accommodation was good. The breakfast was a little disappointing. It is well situated to look around the Town and also for the small number of eating houses. Good swimming pool but could have done with a few more Loungers and Cushions. There is plenty to do in the Town and outside.

We stayed in the Lavender Room with its beautiful and thoughtful furnishings and had the most wonderful stay. Nico and Tess made sure it. The selection at breakfast was a little disappointing compared to other lodges we stayed in during our trip to South Africa but certainly was not grounds for complaint, hence our "very good" rather than "excellent" rating.

Lovely setting next to a brilliant restaurant and coffee shop. The owner allowed us to make a braai on the evening which was very much appreciated. The only reason for the 3 star review is the very mediocre breakfast and the price which is very high. I think at half the price it would be well worth it.
