This was the most realaxing, unspoilt natural resort you could ever wish for! Very small intimate resort with the most friendly, family style atmoshere. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone made you feel at home. The perfect place to spend New Year! The natural beauty was stunning and watching the turtles laying eggs was amazing. A truly stunning relaxing... more

From the second we landed on this incredible island we had found home away from home, I know the big hotels always say they like you to feel at home but you really do here. My wife and I had done our research and this was the honeymoon for us we got excellent advice from our travel agent who had... more

Bird Island is one of the most magical and idyllic places left on earth and we found it to be run by people that have the utmost respect for the island. It is family-owned and family-run which we think made a huge difference to the attention to detail and care that we received from the staff. The island is loved... more

Have just returned from this location after a planned 10 night stay was cut short by us to eight nights. We went to help with the Hawksbill sea turtle conservation which takes place on the Island between November and March and despite only seeing a few adults, we thoroughly enjoyed our time helping with the moving of nests where crabs... more

We stayed here for 5 nights, prior to getting married at Sainte Anne resort. It was a mistake to stay for so long, as we were bored after 3 nights. We also had an incident with a rat in our room which spoiled the mood somewhat! The staff were unhelpful and found it amusing. On the plus side our stay... more

In October we stayed 3 days at Bird Island Lodge. The island is a wonderful place in pristine nature. But we were disappointed about the management of the lodge. During 3 days no outdoor activities (boat trips, fishing,...) were possible, aside from the bird excursion with Roby every second day. Our complaints were useless. The chalets were simple, but comfortable.... more

We stayed on Bird in April this year and it is the holiday we will remember above all others. The small plane takes 30 minutes from Mahe and leaving the spare cases (10kg limit)at the airport with the airport police is no problem. The Island has a deep water side and a reef around the rest giving snorkelling or swimming... more

What can we say? This island is one of the very few remaining unspoilt, beautiful and magical places left on earth. If you are looking for the true desert island experience away from civilisation and modern technology then this is it. Ok not to beat around the bush here, it is as it's name says Bird island, if you have... more

An 'away from it all' island. We stayed for 3 nights which more than enough. The breeding bird colonies are an experience. The birds have little fear of humans and allow you to get really close. Unfortunately, due to their numbers you run the risk of being pooped on at all times (don't use the trees for shade!) We also... more

This really is a special place. You must go if you like nature, it has to be seen. The swimming and snorkling is marvellous and so is the food.. The rooms are breezy and very large and the staff are wonderful.... You can go there if you are young and you can go there if you are old, it doesnt... more
