we stayed here for 3 nights to do the gorilla trek and it was the most amazing experience we had. Checking in was simple and easy, no need to fill in all the long forms and stuff since we had passed all the information via email during our booking. Room (C3) was great, not a long walk from the reception... More

It's hard to add to the rave reviews that have already been published. This place is amazing: the views, rooms, staff (all of them went above and beyond), management (Wendy and Finn are just delightful, they are in the right profession!), main areas.... just everything. The little extras like providing gaters for the gorilla treks and doing an amazing job... More

This was going to be a once in a lifetime experience my wife and I had decided the time was right to climb a mountain and come face to face with a mighty Silverback, to ensure we got the best out of this excursion we decided we needed a good lodge to stay in, and so we needed two nights... More

What a surprise, after walking up a lengthy and steep staircase to come upon such a lovely place. Tucked away in the lush jungle-like surroundings, the luxurious lodges lays under a beautiful mountain, draped in a ring of fog. The accommodations in the common ares were totally relaxing and comfortable (and fancy!). Our room was seemingly untouched, and our butler... More

AMAZING. I don't know how this level of luxury is even possible given the lodge's relatively remote location. By the time we left, we wanted to live there. The lodge is managed by Governor's Camp, which does the lodge a disservice. Dealing with the Governor's Camp main office in Kenya was the most difficulty I've ever had trying to give... More

Gorilla trekking in East Africa is one of those ONCE IN A LIFETIME experiences...and how lovely it was to arrive at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge after a 5 hour gorilla trek! Lovely management couple and well trained staff. Spacious public areas with fireplaces as it can get pretty chilly in the mountain. The food was outstanding. The cottages are large, with... More

Three of us stayed here for two nights in two rooms whilst spending time trekking with the gorillas. its a beautiful place nestled on the side of the mountain. It is a two hour drive from the airport to the lodge with a "short call" break almost exactly half way there. The rout is scenic as you drive through the... More

We had an amazing experience at Sabyinyo. The attention to detail and service from all of the staff was fantastic. Wendy and Finlay, the managers, are attentive and friendly and ensured that we were happy and relaxed. I had a great massage in our room in front of the fireplace, which made it an extra special experience. There is a... More

Our stay was delightful. The room is rustic chic and very private. Finley and Wendy were very friendly and helpful. The service was A+. Only have positive feedback about the lodge. We opted for a massage after our hike. It was pleasurable and helped reduce muscle tension. Notably, masseuse used olive oil, which was.. interesting.

Thank you so much for your lovely review of the lodge. We are delighted you had a great time here. With regards to your massage, we apologise that you were not offered a choice of oils before the treatment. This place was very nice! The staff was OUTSTANDING! They took care of us really well, from starting our fires at night (only source of heat), to cleaning our dirty boots and gators. The food was good and the service was excellent. Findley and Wendy the Managers were a pleasure to visit with. The only draw back was the steep... More
