Warm, charming yet with a touch of adventure. Unspoilt paradise. Early last year we had the luxury of having refreshments here after an exhaustive yet excitung gorilla trek. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside basking in the sun with the volcano massif in the background.

Truly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. Warm hospitality from Tracey and Neilis, welcoming fires burning in the lodge, comfy couches in homey living rooms, great African decor. Food was delicious served at the dining table set with beautiful linens and bowls of lovely fresh flowers. Our cottage was spacious, a fire had been set in the fireplace,... More

The first thing that you will experience is a long and steep walk from the car park to the Lodge itself - we were panting by the time we got there. However, take heart, because that walk is the hardest part of each day and far harder than the trekking itself. The Lodge is excellent. large open public rooms, extremely... More

We chose to stay at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge for 3 nights, based on Trip Advisor reviews, our own research via Governors Camp Collection website (who own the lodge) and the very close proximity of the camp to the Volcanoes National Park. We organised our trip directly with Governor’s and all of our communication was handled by Mbula in reservations and... More

This lodge is a very nice place to stay. The staff was excellent and the rooms were very nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed the dinners with all other guests discussing our gorilla sightings. Will come back!

We stayed at the Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge for 4 nights in December. This was our base for trekking to see the fascinating mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park which has been a lifelong dream. Thanks to hosts, Tracy & Nelis, our experience couldn't have been better! Other reviewers mentioned the long trek from the car park up to the lodge... More

We were a little surprised by the ascent to the hotel- which got easier each time as we adjusted- but once you arrived at the top it was sheer excellence!! The views, the food, the service, the staff, the managers, the comfort and the overall accommodations!! Attention to detail in service, smiles and quality were all there. Lovely people throughout... WOW what a lodge! Sabyinyo is GORGEOUS, private, peaceful, spectacular. The food is awesome, the rooms super comfortable, a roaring fire takes the chill out of the air, and I always appreciate a coffee station. The climb to the lodge and rooms is a bit steep but there are so many staff members to help that I can't imagine anyone... More

Spent 2 nights here prior to gorilla trekking. The place is a bit of a hike to your villa, if u have S1, but one of the most private. Excellent view from our villa. They are expecting to have full electrical service this month, no more generator. The staff and meals are first rate. Hot water bottle tucked in our... More
