..we stayed over on August 6th 2014 as the perfect stepping stone to the following morning's much anticipated gorilla trek. The property is really well maintained, the suites large with the much appreciated fireplace! And the surprise hot water bottle found at the foot of the bed when climbing in! The Lodge is managed by a delightful Scottish couple, Findlay... More

We LOVED our time at the lodge. We were very fortunate to stay there when the managers were in transition. Nelis spent some time assisting us with the settings on our camera to make sure we got some brilliant shots. This was the trend for our whole stay. Tracy cooked us a birthday cake and made us feel very special.... More

An excellent and well run lodge under the watchful eye of the Wolmarans husband and wife team. The staff have been well trained and provide the flexibility that is required when guests’ return to the lodge from Gorilla trekking is so unpredictable. A high standard has been set. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with a beautiful view... More

We had a wonderful stay here. Thank you to our fabulous hosts Fin and Wendy. You made our stay very memorable. The food was delicious and we were very grateful to have our shoes cleaned at the end of each trek. I highly recommend this lodge

We really enjoyed our time at this lodge, where we spent two nights on gorilla treks. The new managers, Finley and Wendy, are very nice and helpful. The rest of the service was also incredibly warm and gracious, starting with the refreshing lemonade they have waiting for you whenever you return to the lodge. The lodge provides a lot of... More

Sadly we only had one night here but it was first class. We met the new managers during their 'handover period' and am glad to hear they're doing a great job! This lodge is very special, beautiful surroundings and attentive staff. The food was excellent. The staff helped us with all trekking matters including gloves and a packed lunch, which... More

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is a 5 star hotel built right on the edge of Volcanoes National Park. Well, it's not really a hotel but a series of luxury cottages dotting the incredible landscape and volcanoes that are the backdrop for this magical place in Rwanda. We stayed here 3 nights in early June while we went gorilla trekking, and we... More
