My husband and I recently spent three nights at Red Rocks Guesthouse and Camp, near Musanze Town and Volcanoes National Park, the home of mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, and the ruins of Dian Fossey’s home and research center - all accessed via guided mountain treks arranged by Amahoro Tours. Red Rocks is the only accommodation in Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri) with... More

This place exceeded my expectations. When you think of Red rocks, you probably think of a hostel type setting.. It's a lovely well maintained place. Very scenic too. It had more of a luxury resort feel to it. Everything from the food to the staff to the cleanliness to safety was amazing. Harriet and Greg are warm and take the... More

Redrocks was a new delightful experience for me. Basic and Comfy setting in clean and well managed setting enhanced by a hostess who can only be described as a "Positive Bundle of Energy!". The interaction with the other visitors and staff all blended well to enhance the stay as we took walks in the surrounding beautiful farmlands and interact acted... More

Perhaps if we had known what we were about to experience, it would have been better. Harriet and the staff were lovely, and we appreciated the cultural experiences (although they seemed mandatory...didn't realize where they were taking us, thought we were just being shown around - a little more information and orientation would have been helpful), but our room was... Thanks for taking the time to write - you should know we have made several upgrades since your visit including to the internet, adding another bathroom and additional lights. The setting will still not always be as glamorous as some may like but we I think we are honest and transparent about what we provide. We are proud of our... More

How do i describe the impulse ? There i was talking to Anne at the Amahoro office trying to work in a gorilla tour when she mentioned Red Rocks as a cost optimization option. A farm you say ? As one who enjoy new experiences i said yes and lo and behold, i found myself off the main road beside... More

I had a great experience in Red Rocks, staff is very cool. It is near a local village, i will be back! Small tip: walk or take a bike to Muko and then a boda boda to the city, is easy to hitchhike as well

My stay at Red Rocks was phenomenal. Harriet makes everyone there feel comfortable and at home. The homemade food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, and the people inspiring. Harriet has made a name for herself in Rwanda as a community activist striving to improve the lives of young women in Rwanda. As such, she has used Red Rocks... More

I've had the opportunity to stay at Red Rocks now several times and had such special experiences every time. I really appreciate getting to meet local people and learning more about the culture and community. The location, the many activities, and so much more about it are awesome but what really makes Red Rocks so amazing is the dedication of... More

We stayed 5 days at Red Rocks and we will for sure never forget them! The place is absolutely great, Harriet (owner) spent a lot of time with us and we had great time.. The location is a bit of an issue, but it's really worth it to spend a few days there :)
