I had there the worste night of my all trip around Rwanda. Extremely slow service (or no service). Mattress was so thin that I had the feeling to sleep on a wood bed. Bathroom (shower room) was like a bad dream. Really old, not working. This is really not a good place to stau, unless you want to experience Africa...

Very basic here the best thing is it is just across from the meeting place for Gorilla tracking, the rooms are very simple with very hard beds and little sitting area, the bathrooms are not very nice open shower that gets water everywhere and not very clean, but it is a simple place and well priced and placed. The housekeepers... More

If Kinigi was not open, backpackers or budget travelers would have to find alternative accommodations in-town (25 mins from the Park). Its a decent lodge if your only staying a couple days. The mattress was hard for my taste. I didn't have my own transport to the park therefore I had to deal with taxi drivers to drive me to... More

Quite expensive fro what was offered , extremely slow service , many food items on menu not available including at one stage milk for tea and coffee! ( despite a dairy 200 m up the road ) . All costs were prepaid and despite having this in writing we had to discuss this with staff each meal as they insisted... More

this place is VERY cheap compared to other options in the area and it does not disappoint as long as you understand it is basic. Rooms are clean but spare. we had a TV in our room but our friends didn't. The food is fine again, keep expectations down. Grilled chicken and chips is way to go! Breakfast sustained us... More

Stayed here in November 2013 for a visit to Volcanoes National Park. The guesthouse is run by the charity AASOFERWA (a non-profit, women's association) for women who were widowed and/or left with HIV infection after the genocide. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Beautiful views of the volcanoes. Just a couple of... More

Stayed here in July 2013 and I agree with a couple previous posts that it is a very cute place. And yes, "it is basic and you get what you pay for, people need to be realistic and not complain about this place!" I stayed in the VIP room which had 2 huge bathrooms. Yes, there is some mold -... More

Kinigi guesthouse is just around the corner of the entrance to the Parc National des Volcans. The rooms are outdated and very basic. The food was ok, but our diner was due to the buffet without heaters a bit cold. So if you need to be at the gate at 7 AM and you want to stay close at an... More

We had a twin room with bathroom, average size room, fly nets were provided, bedroom was clean. Yes bathroom was damp, and it does look dated and needs a refurb, but i loved... More

A decent budget option in best location for gorilla trekking. Very nice grounds with pleasant outdoor terrace and indoor lobby with fireplace. Agree with other reviewers that rooms are in need of renovation. Very ordinary budget rooms, and yes damp and a little moldy. Bathroom not stellar but not as bad as other reviews suggest, had hot water with good... More
