We arrived by private boat from a town 2 hours south down the lake. It was really convenient that the boat could just pull up to the beach and unload us. We'd already wired the full amount of money, so we just gave them a copy of the confirmation and we were set. The friendly staff allowed us to wait... More

Coming back after 2 years to find the place very different. Don't bother to put an alarm, music from the new church down the road coupled with the beach bar next door will wake you up. The loud music will go on until sunset. Rooms - especially shower (room 9) - in need of a touch up. More light will... More

well hidden, with a lot of plants! My kind of place. staff was very welcoming right from the gate felt like we were coming home from a long trip. few guests which was an added bonus for us as it meant limited noise and less movement scrumptious dinner, beautiful warm campfire, relaxing night noise from the insects, beautiful star filled... Stayed here in July 2014 after good recommendations from friends. What a disaster. When we arrived we found a very dirty toilet (poop floating inside with the toilet brush sticking to it). Got severe food poisoning from their tilapia fish and was sick with fever for three days, had to visit the hospital, this really ruined the holiday. The bathroom... More

Was recommended this place by expats in Kigali. Decided to stop by for lunch and, luckily, they had a single free for a few nights. Despite being a little out of my budget, I splurged and glad I did! The location is perfect. Nice, relaxing, an escape from the road! Perfect to have a few beers and watch the lake... More

The location is on Lake Kivu. Beautiful property and a lot of character. The boat excursion and seeing the villages surrounding the lake is outstanding. The lodge and itinerary was arranged by Gorilla Trek Africa, and it placed me close to Nyungwe Forest. The staff and food was outstanding to us. Big smiles and very helpful.

4 of us stayed here on the recommendation of some expats in Rwandan. The staff are incredibly attentive, always a smile on their face and a sense of fun. Breakfast was delicious, the rest of the food quite good by Rwandan standards (if as slow as usual). Only hiccup was with the rooms. We had reserved a triple and a... More

Arrived tired and hungry after an amazing day on the long route at the Gorillas. Campfire and food all fine, room basic but clean but to wake up in the morning to the singing of the local fisherman as they brought in their catch (I thought their singing at night had been carousers coming home from the pub!) and to... I once stayed there for one night and after a misunderstanding with our booking, we were given a room at an "Annex". This time we stayed at the hotel. Now, I am not so sure which is the best! At the hotel it is convenient, at the Annex, which is high on a hill the view is stunning but the... More

Paradis Malahide is by far the most enjoyable place you could ever stay in the Gisenyi region, we ended up staying for almost a week and still regretted having to leave for Kigali at the end of our stay! All the rooms are close to the lake and provide good beds and clean and properly functioning bathroom facilities. Even though... More
