After staying in a Luxury Tent in an Oberoi Hotel in Rathambore, India, my expectations were pretty high... We had booked a "Royal Tent", which wasn't too royal. The tent is dark, and very basic, toilet and shower only have a curtain so there is absolutely no privacy. We asked to be changed to a room at the hotel instead.

We spent one night, here after spending the day traveling from Fes. Looking back at the photos shared on Trip Advisor they are a little miss leading. Be sure to inquire about the accommodations. The photos that are posted are of the Luxe tents which I understand cost a great deal more than the "regular" tents. The reviews are accurate.... More

My wife and I spent the night in the "Deluxe" camp following our camel ride into the desert during a terrible sand storm. No fault of the Xaluca or the desert for that matter but still an interesting adventure once the sand storm subsided. We decided to stay in the tent in spite of some sand being blown around since... We spent one night here, after traveling for a short distance (45 minutes or so) over spectacular dunes by camel. Described to us by our tour guide as 'luxury tents,' we have to admit that we were disappointed. Although the beds were adequate and it might be inherently luxurious to have a hot shower and flush toilet in the Sahara,... More

We were looking for a really special Sahara luxury tent experience and put our faith in the Xaluca brand. We approached with trepidation as our first Xaluca Kasbah experience at Arfoud was hit and miss. With fingers crossed we met our driver Yousef in Arfoud and boarded his older model Land Cruiser. The drive was great as we left the... More

Traditional tuareg tent, very spacious, with en-suite basic facilities. We enjoyed a nice dinner atmosphere under the stars, with a bottle of wine, too much food (but not too quality), warmed up by an open fire just in the middle of our open-air living room. There was some traditional music and then only us, the stars and the desert silence... More

Lovely place, full of space, rooms are big with good free internet, bathroom is big and the shower gives a lot of water, you can get used to showers with no so much water in this area And buffets are great! With food for all kind of guests, in our party where veggans, and all find wonderful meals Meal

I stayed here as part of my tour of Morocco. The hotel theme is phenomenal! It was the first hotel I stayed at in Morocco that made me feel like I was in an exotic location. My tour group took advantage of the hotel's sunrise tour of the desert along with the camel ride. This is a must do. You... More

No trip to Morocco is complete without a visit to the dunes of the Sahara. The Bivouac Belle Etoile promised so much - a luxurious and private camp in the desert. Our anticipation mounted as we rode our camels from the dunes at sunset to the private tents, located in a hollow of the dunes but actually only 3-400 m... More

A Great Experience I stayed at the deluxe tents in La Belle Etoile in March 2013, I was doing a nine day tour of Morocco through a company called experience it tours. I wanted to send a night in the desert especially in a tent. It was on my bucket list for years! As a female solo traveler I was... More
