The place is situated outside the usual tourist areas and due to this the peace and privacy we experienced has been unique. The elegance of the Mansion and the Tower are impressive and the privacy you are given makes you regenerate. The lunch was in the garden in front of the lake with a private table only for us and... Dodo's Tower is an extraordinary 20th century folly! It is deeply and truly comfortable, evokes a bygone (or is it?) era, and is set in an exquisite location between two lakes and under the acacia trees. The hippos, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, mongoose, antelope, gazelle and birdlife are a bonus. Go! When the time comes again that travellers don't fear Kenya... More

Impalas, Hippos, Birds from out of this world, Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras. All in one place, on a tiny half Island just 2hrs outside Nairobi. A beautifully maintained resort with friendly staff excellent food and adventure at your leisure. I suggest bringing a pair of binoculars. I've never been a bird lover, but the specimens you can see here surpassed my... More

On our second trip to Kenya, we took our two young kids (4 and 7). We have seen 12 different lodges overall, but Hippo Point turns out to be a league of its own. It feels like it's fallen out of time, grounds and house in pristine settings, pure serenity. You can basically walk by hippos and buffalos. Super helpful... More

We have lived in Kenya for three years now and travelled around a lot. Hippo Point is without a doubt our favourite and we return as often as we possibly can. We even invited a close group of friends and organised the baptism of our first-born there. The whole place is a dream. Eat breakfast in the tower and watch... More

We have just returned from the White Highlands in Kenya, having spent 5 days at Hippo Point Estate. This is NOT a hotel, it is a very special, personal place. Imagine having a castle of one´s own in the middle of Africa. With pure virgin bush as surroundings, in spite of Naivasha Town having risen dramatically in population the last... More

We've travelled quite all around the world. We love beautiful places. For us, Hippo Point is one of the most beautiful place in the world ! It was the first stop of our Kenyan trip. It is not really a hotel. It is rather a home with not so many rooms and not so many people. The fantastic thing is... More
