this is my second time in Sawela. The first time, I couldnt appreciate it well enough cos I was just returning from a trip and had to go for a meeting there so I guess I was too tired to take it all in then - just went through the motions more or less and concentrated on my mission there.... More

The lodge was not fully booked so we got two single rooms for a night stay. The setting of the lodge is quite nice and the rooms are comfortable but already a bit worn out. Unfortunately in the morning at 07.30 the housekeeper opened the door to check whether we have checked out already, imagine at 07.30, after knocking only... More

Esteemed Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay with us recently and also taking time to review your stay with us. We have noted with regret the aspect in which we did not live up to your expectations with regard to a rather too early morning knock on your door. I have shared the unfortunate experience with my team and... More

The good things .. It looks very pretty with small british style buildings, a very nice loan (pelouse) , old trees and a very nice swimming pool... The food was average, as often in Kenya and the Lodge is not on the lake side, you need to have a chaperon to go there ( because of wild animal they say,... More

When we first pulled up Sawela lodge, we thought wow how beautiful, the entrance, reception, park and bedroom looked lovely and expensive, first impressions and all that! then we decided to take a shower no chance, no hot water! Went to reception to ask if they could sort it, as we were very tired and dirty from traveling and a... More

This is a very pleasant place to stay, with good food and free wi-fi, but it is not a place that provides views or wildlife viewing. It is a short drive from here to Crater Lake Game Sanctuary, and also to Lake Naivasha, where we had a wonderful open-boat ride just before dusk and saw dozens of hippos, thousands of... More

The Sawela is neither as big nor as luxurious as the Sopa lodge next door, nor does it have the profusion of "in house" wildlife. It is, however, a very pleasant lodge with nice rooms overlooking a pretty garden and more than adequate facilities (restaurant, bar, small swimming pool, access to the lake and safaris, etc). It would work very... More

The Lodge was fully booked by our group for a 3 day Symposium in mid-June 2014 .. the group comprised senior management from various Governments and International companies. Whilst a little basic the rooms were good quality, clean and international TV (from S. Africa) was available the only drawback regarding the rooms was the poor WiFi reception and better reception... My wife & I booked a room at very short notice, for a weekend away to celebrate our 1st anniversary. On arrival, the customer service was immediately of the highest quality - courteous, attentive and well-informed. We were whisked straight through to the spacious dining room to catch the tail-end of the buffet lunch (we had booked full-board), which was... More

4 of us traveled to Lake Naivasha in May. We decided to stay at Sawela Lodge because it sounded luxurious - right on the lake, with sumptuous rooms and beautiful facilities. Arriving at 3 PM, we were told our rooms were not ready. We had a nice buffet lunch while we waited. I was then shown my room. It was... More

We recently went for a work retreat with a day of team building. The lodge is very clean, with well manicured lawns, hospitable staff and a sparkling swimming pool. The food was sumptuous and the barbeque excellent. I shall be returning back for soon.
