We camped here for 3 nights whilst on an overland tour through East Africa. The first thing to comment on would be the location as it really is beautiful. Located right on the river you are guaranteed to see hippos , in fact we saw two within half an hour of arriving and later opted to do the boat ride... More

What I really love about this place is the Carnelley Family. What a perfect blend of native Kenya and European cultures! I always felt safe and comfortable my entire stay. The food in bottom camp was good with the typical East Indian flair. Hippos, Colobus Monkeys and the amazing amount of bird species blew me away. Rent Karibu Cottage if... More

The campsite is located on the lake so you get a great view all day long. The amenities are basic but clean. The tent they rented me though was one of those old pole tents and just about did its job of protecting me from the elements and the mattress and blankets were smelly, so bring your own gear if... We stayed in one of the self contained units (unsure of the name of it) We rang up one week and told they couldn't fit us in the 3 nights. We rang again a few days later for one night they could accommodate- when we arrived we asked for the 3 nights that they could now accommodate us for?... The... More

One of the oldest established campsites on Lake Naivasha, Fisherman's camp offers basic amenities and activities. The restaurant serves good value home-cooked meals (do not expect cordon bleu!) Firewood, hot showers, toilets are available on site, plus camping equipment to rent if there's anything you forgot to bring with you. If camping is not your scene, then the rustic bandas... More

Beautiful location. You'll spot hippos at night or even in late afternoon. The lake is wonderful. Unfortunately, the reception staff women knew absolutely nothing about hospitality, wouldn't even look me in the eyes when I walked passed and didn't answer my good morning wishes to them. Haven't experienced that anywhere else in Africa. The dinner is delicious, but expensive ($7-$12)... More

We camped there for 3 or 4 nights so we can only review the camping ground and facilities. This camping has a good location, not far from Hell's gate by bike and in a reasonable time you can reach crescent island. It is really near to the lake and we could see hippos in the night, this was AMAZING!! Facilities... More

Stayed in a 6 person banda in bottom camp, comfortable enough, with good mozzie nets, beautiful location near the lake. Restaurant surprisingly reasonably priced compared to other places in the area, 6-700 KES for a hearty main and food was good enough. All in all the best value and most fun of the camps I've been to around Naivasha.

The atmosphere at the bar was nice as was the food, but we were left underwhelmed by the accommodation and prices. There are better options for the same price nearby. Having said that if you want remote and peaceful, then the top camp is definitely that.
