We had a chance of staying in the place for some few days and as a nature lover fanatic Crater lake provided the best.A private ranch with amazing nature guided trails was what I needed. The tents were average, staff a bit slow ,meals average , bumpy/rough road very tricky you feel like going back but on arrival you change your... More

It is a very beautiful place especially if you go round the crater and see the animals n the view of the hotel, the pool and the lake from above is great. The food was really good and the people there were all very kind only issue was The showers took some time to heat up but that aside it... More

Nice scenic place with a nice setting. Shame the hotel is not the same. Poor service, poor management. Staff do not care at all. Rooms are run down with leaking toilets. The food is awful for the price.

(actual visit Oct 2013 - just getting to this now) Nice, comfortable room. I felt room/bathroom/bed was in line with other mid range safari options. Perhaps not quite as polished as some. I enjoyed the food. The walking safari was different than my trips to Masai Mara and Sweetwater Ol Pejeta - you can walk because no "Big Cat /... More

The hotel is placed in a beautiful scenic background but its a shame the staff take this for granted with their poor service. A lot of problems were encountered during the stay. We were firstly told that a VW Golf would be an appropriate vehicle to get there, however this was the not the case there is a very bumpy... More

This Hotel is in a very very nice setting. The Hotel has tented rooms which are very nice. The beds are comfortable and they provide a lot of blankets which is strange when you arrive but in the middle of the night when temperatures drop to near freezing, you appreciate the blankets. Loads of very cute Monkeys around. Very nice... More

i spent a weekend here and would recommend it for a quiet getaway for 2. the lake has hippos and one can take a boat ride here..the attendants know how to navigate the waters and avoid the hippos which can easily topple you over *shrieks*. There is an eating area jutting out into the water and is good for an... More

This is perhaps one of Kenya's least known and exclusive crater lakes to experience close to nature. Crater Lake is one of Naivasha's three lakes: others being the famous Lake Naivasha and Oloiden Lake. It is a tented camp built deep inside a crater lake and bustling with rich bird life and close encounters with hyenas, flamingos, Columbus and Rhesus... More

Great get away place. exclusive, personalized service, great ambience, friendly staff. I was more surprised when we were asked us what time we would like to have dinner & bfast as opposed to 'dinner is served at....' no check out time restrictions. we were taken to the sanctuary by a very friendly guide, planted a tree... we will definitely be back... This time around we promise you more activities this time: bird watching with more than 400 species available, discovery sporting, tree planting, boat riding at the Crater Lake while being educated on how the lake was formed, Both day and night game drives, counting of the stairs. The nature walk coupled with sundowner are a loveable experience. Welcome to Crater... More

Don't expect 5* luxury. The rooms are OK, but certainly not great. Ours had decidedly dodgy plumbing and lethal wiring, but the view was spectacular. The resident troop of colobus monkeys is impressive, the birdlife is spectacular and diverse. There is a pleasant hike around the crater with a helpful guide available. The food was mediocre; the standard buffet is... More
