Don't expect 5* luxury. The rooms are OK, but certainly not great. Ours had decidedly dodgy plumbing and lethal wiring, but the view was spectacular. The resident troop of colobus monkeys is impressive, the birdlife is spectacular and diverse. There is a pleasant hike around the crater with a helpful guide available. The food was mediocre; the standard buffet is... More

Crater Lake tented camp is named after Crater Lake where it is located. Crater Lake is part of the 3 Rift Valley lakes in Naivasha. They have a lovely swimming pool and a floating restaurant on the lake where you can have your meals as the restaurant sways back and forth.

Visited crater lake on a very short notice.Very impressed by their willingness to make the necessary arrangements for our accommodation. Arrival is through an earth road way after the crowded lake Naivasha hotels and resorts. Could do with more clear directions especially after Kengen estate and at the Kongoni centre. The establishment is a Very nice, rustic and secluded place.... More

Very beautiful, exclusive and amazing place, I would recommend the place for couples or newly wed couples that preffer privacy, its very quiet and there are tons of activities to do, such as hiking up to the leopard rock, game drives as well as a visit to the Happy valley

Really an awesome place to spend a vacation. The rooms are beautiful and the environment inspiring. My partner and I chose the honeymoon suite and it was worth the money. Planted a tree and looking forward to following up on its growth. Couldn't use the floating restaurant due to its dilapidated state which we were assured was going to be... More

very good place for hiking. exhuasting to walk all around along the crater lake rim, takes more than 2 hours. Not many visitors, all the view is yours haha. we didn't stay for the night or eat though.

I had only heard of the place before, not much just one of the lodges and resorts in Rift Valley. My visit was extra-ordinary, although we almost got lost, evening travels..:D. But, being my birthday the staff had small cake prepared( at request i think). I had a great time , Sherrie welcomed us, and we really loved her. The... More

The guy at the campsite, the guy at the restaurant and the ladies at the reception are genuinely nice people. The place itself is poorly run and poorly maintained. It is a travesty. It is located in an eden, but it is so poorly run as to be farcical. Get a proper hotel chain to lease your property and start... More

Refurbished Camping. We value your feedback and take your comments seriously. Crater Lake has now made significant progress in its camping facility, the toilets have been freshly redone. New professional Chefs were deployed to address the issue of food and we no-longer have issues to do with food. Our clients are now happy and we'll never stay in comfort zones.... More

Unfortunately, we planned our stay at Crater Lake on a holiday weekend. The only available accommodation was basic camping. The campground is far from the lake and from the dining area. The tents are old. A simple air mattress, 2 sheets, and 2 blankets are supplied. No lighting. The shower stalls and hole-in-the-floor toilets are disgusting. To get to the... More

Better Camping facility. We appreciate all comments by our guests and live to rectify the negative issues raised by them. We have now done proper toilets, purchased new blankets, put some tables. Bonfire concept has been built and lighting been set. More

A most pleasant location, hospitable and friendly staff ready to meet any demand (within reason :) ). Situated about 30 mins from the town of Naivasha with game parks surrounding the property. Good for guided tours on foot and by car; ideal for scrambling (or just walking) the trails along the crater edge and spotting the animal inside and outside... More
