Perhaps it was the container box we stayed in, but the best way I can describe Camp Carnelley's is "glamping" - glamor camping. We literally stayed in a large ship container that was made into two rooms. We could hear the next-door neighbors talking in low voices through the door adjoining the rooms (near our headboard!). The outdoor "bathroom" had... More

The place is very beautiful as it blends into Nature: the bandas are scattered around an vast area, very close to the Lake. You can go for boat rides departing from the small jetty in front. The bandas are cool, very basic, very rustic and simple. No nets in windows, so the breeze enters the room during the night and... More

We stayed here on my birthday with some friends. The new bandas which we had rented are very nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The burgers are to die for.The night can get very chilly so carry lots of warm clothing.Overall, great experience wouldn't mind doing it again.

Lovely shaded area on shores of lake. Very relaxed with beautiful set up. We hired boats to go hippo spotting and bird watching. We have never seen so many different birds : exceptional. Boat men took fish to entice the stunning fish eagles down from their tree top perches. Amazing. And good value compared to other camps for this, too.

We stayed at Camp Carnelly's on a family weekend trip to Lake Naivasha last autumn. The new bandas were very nice - both in terms of the laid back, 'natural' design (loved the bathroom!) and because they were very comfortable. The beds were nice and in the evening we could sit right outside, in front of a fire, and listen... More

I have been travelling for one year. This is the WORST place I have ever stayed! First, I have book a dorm bed. When arrving, the staff told me that they had no bed for me. Because they just gave all the beds to a GROUP. And the staff ask me to stay in a tent instead. But I have... More

The accommodation here is high quality and there is something to suit all budgets. They offer great lake tours to see the hippos and flamingos as well as having bike hire. I recommend hiring a bike and cycling through Hells Gate - it was amazing! The food here it really really tasty with excellent portion sized. I'd stay again and... More

Got recommended this place by a collegue who works in Kenya and as I always trust local advice we checked it out! Stayed in a Bando close to the lake- so beautiful. Amazing to wake up and look out at such an incredible and idylic setting, not to mention the lovely little place we had. Had a great snooze in... More

I stumbled upon Carnelley's while walking the road to fisherman's lodge (where I was supposed to stay initially). I ate my lunch there and decided to stay for a night. The place is wonderful, large open area, spread with large yellow acacia trees, birds flying in and out, nesting and fluttering. In all a very beautiful and nice place to... More
