Wow, was this a surprise! What luxury! We loved it! PROS: --huge rooms --great decor --bar area/lounging room with fireplace --huge windows in main areas to look out --right on the lake's edge to see wildlife roaming the grounds --great boat tour nearby, with up-close and personal hippo visits! --tennis courts, workout room, nice pool --in room fridge CONS: --too... Interesting lake on the property that has a lot of hippos in it and is fun to walk around. Due to the hippos, a security escort is required at night. The rooms are very large, but a bit tired - they could use a refresh. Food was decent and there is a lot of seating in the common area along... More

This Lodge is very luxurious with all the amenities. The rooms are very well equipped, however, our toilet ran all the time so we ultimately turned off the water supply. We were here for one night en route to the Masai Mara from Lake Nakuru. I regret not having continued to the Masai Mara. The Lodge was full of people... More

We did this as a stop over trip from Nairobi to Maasai Mara and although it was quite pleasant in retrospect, would have preferred to spend an extra night in the Mara as there is not much to do at Naivasha other than the boat trip, and perhaps an unnecessary detour unless you are going up there for a weekend... Wow, this lodge was fantastic. Our room was huge with two kingsize beds, a lounge area, big bathroom etc. We even had a television, not that we wanted to use it when all that wildlife was about. It was great to see all the animals roaming around the grounds from giraffes, hippos, colobus monkeys, waterbucks, to name but a few.... More

After staying in camps during the safari nice to stay in proper hotel. Very close to the lake. A trip to the lake is a must. wild life can be seen ( Hippos, wilder beast and wild buffaloes) in the property. The room very spacious. Good Food.

The Sopa Lodge is in my eyes a quality Lodge, considering it's location. We stayed in room 70 on the second floor. It was a large well maintained room with a large bathroom. There was a TV (Which we didn't use because you could sit on the balcony at night and watch the wild animals wander through the grounds. There... More

Awesome place it is. Right from the reception the staff were very friendly and courteous. The food was sumptuous and the ambience of the room and the resort in general was superb. The presence of the wild animals like the hippos and buffalo dada to the thrill of the place! Definately will recommend it to friends and colleagues.

From the moment we checked in we knew that this resort was different. It was in fact, superb. From the welcome at reception to our final departure the whole place reeked of luxury. The room was something else, huge, to say the least, with two king size beds and a large living area. There was an entrance room where we... More

Sopa was a lovely place to stay for a stopover. 1 or 2 nights or a weekend break from Nairobi is ideal. The rooms are large. Bathrooms are totally outdated and showers not good enough. The food is ok. Staff were very polite and friendly. The views from all the rooms are great with giraffes, horses, hippos ( at night)... More
