We stayed here for one night on our way between Samburu and Masai Mara. You would probably also aim to do this if travelling between Nairobi and Masai Mara. The main purpose of this stop is to see the lake and hippos (it shows how poor our research was that we were expecting to see flamingos which are actually at... More

We did our game drive (Somak) around Lake Nakuru on the way to the hotel. Saw white rhinos from afar and a leopard. Had lunch at a lodge overlooking the lake. Fantastic view. Stopped at Lake Naivasha to do a boat trip ($30 each). Our guide/driver Joseph was very informative about the lake and it's wildlife but the best part... More

The setting of the hotel is rather nice but the interior is a little bit run down, the haydays are over with shrinking tourist numbers visiting the lodges and hotels in Kenya. Unfortunately we have ordered a bottel of white wine which had turned to vinegar already because it overstayed for years. Generally, the drinks are overpriced like in any... More

My three teenage sons and I enjoyed our visit to the resort. We had two downstairs rooms with two double beds. The room are very spacious with a sunken sitting area with couch. One of the rooms had a peculiar smell, as if someone had been smoking in the room. The bathrooms are not terrific but not terrible. Beds are... More

Wanted to love this venue because of its great setting and decor, however we used our credit card in the gift store and two days later found that our details had been stolen and used to purchase $2K USD worth of goods in Nairobi, including their gas to get there. So, the staff is untrustworthy. And I don't make that... More

There are no words to say how beautiful this place is, with all the animals roaming around the hotel grounds. The lodge is very close to the lake shores so you can just walk down the lake. I stayed only one night and if I went back I would stay longer. The best things is that you can soak in... More

We had a great stay here. Spacious rooms, beds and bathrooms. Great service. Giraffe and waterbuck wander around the grounds. Lake Navaisha is on the far side of the grounds. At night, security has to walk you back to your room to protect you from the hippos. Lots if beautiful birds. Be sure to take a boat ride on the... More

This was our second visit to the Sopa Lodge at Naivasha. Nothing seems to have changed since our last visit in 2009, and the rooms could do with a bit of upgrading. However, we had a very Pleasant stay and saw lots of hippos in the garden at night, along with water buck, hares and lots of bats. The ground... More

It was my second visit to this hotel after a 6 year hiatus. And after a 2 hour drive down the highway and skirting round Lake Naivasha we got to the gate of the hotel. The last 150m from the gate is just great, it's been kept natural and we saw waterbuck happily grazing away. The staff received us well... More

If you travel across East Africa as much as I do (I run a company called Sporting Excellence which has a safari brand called Incredible Africa Safaris; AND I am a wildlife buff!) its only natural to have to stay at different places, something I love doing. Despite picnic-ing and boating in Lake Naivasha since the early 90's, this was... More
