This was our second visit to the Sopa Lodge at Naivasha. Nothing seems to have changed since our last visit in 2009, and the rooms could do with a bit of upgrading. However, we had a very Pleasant stay and saw lots of hippos in the garden at night, along with water buck, hares and lots of bats. The ground... More

It was my second visit to this hotel after a 6 year hiatus. And after a 2 hour drive down the highway and skirting round Lake Naivasha we got to the gate of the hotel. The last 150m from the gate is just great, it's been kept natural and we saw waterbuck happily grazing away. The staff received us well... More

If you travel across East Africa as much as I do (I run a company called Sporting Excellence which has a safari brand called Incredible Africa Safaris; AND I am a wildlife buff!) its only natural to have to stay at different places, something I love doing. Despite picnic-ing and boating in Lake Naivasha since the early 90's, this was... More

Booked this resort with TransTrek saffaris and found it to be a great stay. Despite only staying for one night I felt it was a great experience and would definitely return again. Wish that I had stayed longer. Great that the lodge had internet and a pool, though the main attraction was the hippos in the evening. The bedrooms were... More

The hotel is great from the drive into the hotel, where we saw two giraffes and our daughter was so excited, little did we know that this was just the beginning. The check in was smooth and staff were very friendly. We were soon escorted into our rooms. We got a room on the first floor, the room is large... More

We have just run a three day Customer workshop and it was excellent. The meeting rooms are good, cool and well lit. The bedrooms, large and spacious with really comfortable beds and DSTV. The food for the conference was excellent if possibly too much. Wanted to sleep after lunch even though I was a speaker so we went for walk... More

We stayed here for one night as part of our Somak Cheetah safari. We arrived quite late in the day, to find a very nice reception area, with the usual high standard of Kenyan hopsitality and service. So far so good. the accomodation consists of a number of huts, each divided into four suites- 2 on ground level, and 2... More

Stayed May 7th and May 8th 2014. Very nice experience. It was the low tourist season when we were there so the Lodge was not at full occupancy. Check In: We were with a group of 10 and our Safari outfitter booked the accomodations for us. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised-the property is beautiful, grounds well manicured and the... Our stay at the resort can only be summed up by a visit there. Waking up to graceful giraffes, zebras and water bucks grazing in the property...after dinner walking to the cottages while watching hippos grazing and accassionally the mighty buffaloes. This was a weekend to remember. At the reception area, colobus monkeys and other varieties playful families swarm the... More

I totally enjoyed my stay there this past weekend. Room was spacious, food was good and Staff were friendly. I didn't have time to fully enjoy touring the resort, but what I did see of it, I loved. The hot shower, I couldn't get used to though, regulating it was a nightmare.
