I have stayed here several times over the years and with all things considered for Kenya its a good place to stay. Breakfast is included in the minimal price. The rooms are fairly clean, the noise outside does come into the room at any time of day. The staff are super friendly, Fred at the reception is delightful and the... More

Great value for money and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were great and the hotel's location is excellent, being a stone's throw from the lake. Plus there is a bakery close by and good markets too. Loved it.

I stayed in N.V.H. room 205 recently. the room was fine, but the ceiling fan was set at maximum and thus very very noisy and unfortunately the control unit is high up the wall and completely out of reach even after climbing on the table. We had seen liked, booked and paid for the room then went for our luggage ,when we... This hotel is comfortable enough. We asked for a double room, and had one very small double bed plus a single. Unfortunately the mossie net wasn't big enough to cover the larger bed. It was a bit noisy in the morning, since our room was on the corner with windows overlooking both streets. There was a tv but we didn't... More

I have stayed at the new vic about 15 times over a 10 year period. We are a church based NGO based in Australia and travel in teams from as large as 25 and as small as 2.. After staying in tents out in the bush working setting up irragation systems, running medical clinics the New Vic seems like a... More

I stayed here last week with a GAP tour. At first sight you might be concerned as the lobby is just a desk but honestly I never felt safer. It's not the most updated hotel but it has a lot of charm if you have an open mind and are willing to sacrifice a shower or two. My room had... More

I called this hotel (they have no website so calling is almost the only option I can think of to book room) a few days ago before arrival to book a room, however on the day of arrival (around 7:30pm) we got to the hotel and was told that "someone else of the same name of mine has came earlier... We stayed at the New Victoria in 2006 and we had a great time we read the rules and Reg's which sounded restrictive but when we told the reception we had Kenyan Family which we wanted to entertain in the hotel they treated us great and the staff also assured us they would watch our 9 year old son which... My husband, in-laws and I were in Kisumu for a weekend trip to the village. We were only planning on staying in Kisumu for one night and had stayed at the Imperial Hotel the night before (loved it). Due to our late departure from the village we had to stay in Kisumu for another night. Unfortunately, the Imperial Hotel was... More

My wife said just check... More
