This is not a very nice place. It's rather grim and depressing, the bathroom is not very nice and breakfast is, well, typically African . Even though they assured me wireless would work in my room it didn't. I guess it's OK for a short stay, but definitely the place you will miss after you check out. £25 for a... More

Very good hotel. Also has a restaurant and bar connected to the hotel which was very good and cheap. The rooms were very good and the location was excellent. A very good hotel, I would happily stay here again.

Just what we needed after a long roadtrip from Machakos upto Kisumu. Very friendly staff. The view from our room at the back was surprising. We looked down on the chicken cages, which was interesting. The hotel was QUIET which is quite exeptional in Kenya. Where usually you must bare loud TVset and/or music. The mosquitonets had NO holes either... More

I got a double for Kes. 3,500. While the place is located conveniently along the Nairobi-Kisumu Hwy, the hotel looked average to me. The rooms look like they were recently painted but apart from that, everything else seems outdated and dirty, starting with the bathroom which had stains on the sink and toilet, the bed covers need to be replaced... To my view Whirlspring Hotel has done some adjustments, like painting the rooms makes it have a good look within and corridors. Staff are very friendly, corporative and helpful. The pacho meeting point has been upgraded by two flat screen tvs that makes it look decent. The food feels fresh in the mouth and expect no stomachache due food problem. The... More

The Whirlspring Hotel was overall quite old and run down. The furnishings were tired and the room decor didn't match well at all. There were signs of improvement though and the electricity to the room had been upgraded - the sections where new wires were run though hadn't been painted though. Through this improvement there was still only one power... More
