The place is breathtaking, the staff a very professional, the choice of building materials 'wooden planks on the floor finish' is superb, the views are out of this world.I went there with my girlfriend and she can't think of any other place in Kisumu.

With only one night to spend in Kisumu, I could not resist the unique opportunity to stay INSIDE an animal sanctuary. Impalas and zebra roam freely around the property, but there are also caged cheetahs, baboons, lions, hyenas, and ostriches on the premises. The hotel itself is breathtaking. I stayed in a luxury suite, and the room was so beautiful... More

Impala is a good restaurant though expensive. I am eaten here twice and the only problem I have had is the unfreshness of the meals I was served. But it is a great site and I remember watching the hippo getting out of the water in the evening and started grazing just 20 meters from our table. This is not... More

April, 2014 I lead a group of US doctors and healthcare professionals to Kisumu. About a year prior to that I had looked at several hotels in Kisumu and came upon this magical, serene and secure haven: The Impala EcoLodge. After a lovely conversation with the manager, Martin, I decided to have my group of nine people stay at the... More

The Lodge inside the common Impala Sanctuary evokes all manner of thoughts and emotions straight up from the surrounding environment to the cottages and with interests in Eco-systems I personally found it very innovative. The re-use reduce recycle technique clearly defined and practiced here. The water heating, natural building materials as well as landscaping denotes it all. The entrance fee to the... More

The place is the best in Kisumu in terms of being eco-friendly, beautiful, modernly-designed and being situated right on the lakeside with some amazing picturesque views. You have to love that you can be among the animals whilst you are here. So we had to have our wedding at this location because of this as well as some really friendly... More

Nice place, looks as good as it does in the pics.Great view of Lake Victoria but the food is over priced(discourages local tourists). loved watching the animals roam around, my kid loved it. Excellent for bird watching too.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ecolodge looks as good, if not better than it does in the photos. The food was quite good; with large servings. The staff was friendly and polite, with the manager arranging a boat ride for us on Lake Victoria. And the rooms are absolutely lovely and quite spacious

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing afternoon and night's stay on the edge of Lake Victoria in our own detached lodge/cabin. The facilities are a very high standard and the staff are really friendly and helpful, but you do have to pay a premium price plus the entry fee into Impala Park just to walk to the hotel, which...
