A/c wasn't working and my colleague was given a half warmed through tin of soup in the coffee shop. Not somewhere I plan to return to, although they did find a good car hire company to get me to Nakuru this afternoon

We arrived in Kisumu on 3rd June ...and stayed one day only. The rooms are tidy, but of lower quality finishing - old carpet, poor locks, hard mattress, toilet taking 20 mins to refill, loose taps, light not working, loose and poor window lock. There were no general information leaflets or fire notice (the fire point was near the room.... More

Thanks very much for the review. We appreciate the positive comments about tidiness of our rooms as well as good quality of food. We look to further better on these areas. On the other hand, we apologize profusely that there were hiccups during your stay. We fixed the loose taps, window locks and missing info leaflets in your room same... More

This was one of the lousier places that I have been to. It does not offer much of the surroundings (it is close to the central place of the town where you can do the shopping and take a walk) and it is not far from the airport. The staff was hopeless (other than the guy who helped us with... More

The only thing working for this hotel is the convinient location. It has all the facilities available but the management is not working hard. Service is poor with very unprofessional staff. Rooms are ok but need a bit of sprucing up. Water from the tap is brown. Food is ok but not exciting. This hotel is very overpriced for what... More

I was taken to the hotel by Kenya airways (another useless airline) for an overnight stay following a cancelled evening flight from Kisumu. I had my doubts about its quality because I had never heard of it. I was surprised that it is actually called a hotel - poor quality food, served by useless waiters; water trickles in the room... Easy to access from Kisumu Airport and secure location at the CBD of Kisumu town in Western Kenya. Can do better in food (freshness is the key). I was here for business visit and decided try a new place owned by Maseno University. Lighting is good, tap water light brown, furniture including bed (for the room I booked) squeaky and... More

Have been staying her a few times now, mainly for multi-day conferences. Very central location. A bit of a few of the lake from the highest floors. Part of the university, said to be a training place for its hospitality students. Nice pool. Bar. A/C. But a bit old, old fashioned and run down. Internet not working (well). Staff try... More

Lousy rooms, no hot water (but when there was for a few hours, it was a tasteful color of brown), banging pipes, lousy food, mosquito nets with holes that fell from the ceiling, telephone system worked erratically (like getting strange calls at strange hours of the night, if the handset doesn't completely fall off the phone when you lift it).... After checking in and finding my room A/C, TV and hot water did not work, I asked to check out and be refunded my room charge. I was told no by the staff and my request to the manager was ignored.
