I visited my parents in Kumasi after almost 7 years outside Ghana. On my last day in town, I was invited to this hotel for lunch. It was simply too good to be true. I had a local dish: yam and plantain with spinach stew. The food was lovely, Staff were nice and professional. I later tried the khebab and... More

Reasonably-priced hotel in a quiet spot, only steps from downtown. Good-sized, clean room and bathroom. Free wifi and access to computers. Service at the restaurant was sometimes slow (slower than the usual slow) but the food was always good. All in all, good bang for your buck.

Our group of 6 stayed here 2 nights (October 2012) and found it a pleasant and comfortable option for accommodations in Kumasi. There are a series of quaint units nestled in gardens in a quiet walled setting. Our room had cold AC, a mini fridge, fast free wifi, hot water and great water pressure in the huge shower, and comfortable... More

My wife and I stayed at Kumasi Catering Rest House (October 2012) for one month while working as medical volunteers at the teaching hospital. In short, the negatives outweighed the positives. Positives - rooms are large and grounds are beautiful and well kept up. It is walking distance to the hospital. AC worked well (when there was power), good WiFi.... More

I recently stayed at the Kumasi Catering Rest House for two weeks, whilst working on a project in Kumasi. I had originally planned to stay at a hotel in Santasi, called Lizzie's Hotel, but that hotel was awful, so I moved to the Kumasi Catering Rest House. I was very glad I moved to the KCRH, as it was a... More

On return to Kumasi from Lake Bosomtwe I spent two nights at the KC Rest House. This was the third time that I stayed there and for the most part I found that the standards were much as they were three and four years ago. My room was clean and spacious with good ac and plentiful hot water. Wi-Fi, albeit... More

Good value and accommodation for the price. Massive rooms! Standard on-site restaurant. Just not much character. And downtown Kumasi isn't the greatest place to stay on holiday - very few good restaurants within walking distance, and traffic is always horrible throughout the day. For a restful trip, stay in the 'burbs of Kumasi. But except for location, this is a... More

This was a wonderful place to stay and even though I was a woman alone, I felt very safe and slept well. My room was more like a mini-apt-kitchenette and was large with a small patio out front. The pictures here do not do it justice. Internet, AC, hot water was plentiful. My connection to the Internet was the best.... More

Kumasi can be a hectic place and the Catering Rest House is a great, quiet oasis in the city. We originally only booked for 2 nights, but stayed a 3rd after our trip to Mole National Park. The front desk was also very helpful in finding us a car and driver to take us to Mole National Park on short... More

you need a place to rest in kumasi these days and this is a good one. the location is unbeatable, very near to the central market, in the center of town, yet surrounded by hundreds of acres of greenery provided by the surrounding government landholdings. the staff is first-rate, very friendly and helpful. the architecture and the rooms are old...
