Two members of staff speak bad English the rest none, despite this being a hotel aimed at foreigners. Our room was over priced for what it was, and very run down. The hotel is around ten kilometres from the town centre. Our room was missing a mosquito net which is a big problem in this area, I was awake all... More

This hotel is a little out of town, but very convenient if you plan to spend time at the brewery of the Tewedros Campus. If you are hoping to enjoy Gondar's sites I would try a hotel closer to Piazza. The cost is reasonable for the quality and there is hot water and a clean bed net in all of... More

This used to be our favorite hotel in Gonder- we would stay for 1-2 nights every month (work travel). However, last fall the management changed and not for the better. The new receptionist lied to us about the price and came chasing after our car demanding more money, after he had already accepted payment. Restaurant is pretty good, but usually... More

Hotel is used by Ethiopian airline when they cancel their flights. Very bad service, front desk personel doesn't speak a word of English. Very dirty, no toilet seat, it is on bare ceramic, when we complained, the answer was "no problem". The dining room is a disgrace, flies all over, 2 out of three meals had hair in them.Away from... Of all the hotels we stayed in during our three weeks in Ethiopia, the Queens Hotel was the best value. For less than $20 per night, we received: spacious clean rooms; fabulous personalized service; and, excellent meals for a modest price. The owner, Nikki, lived in Canada for 15 years and understands western standards. She even gave me a haircut!... More
