Not sure what else I can add to the title! Clearly we were not happy with this choice of lodging! The small, dingy room was bad enough, but the shower was actually worse: not much water, barely warm rather than actually hot. I would NOT stay here again!

I can happily recommend this one, and will stay here next time I come. Hotel service was fast and cheerful. Both rooms I stayed in were clean, well-maintained and had 24/7 hot water. I really appreciated the locking closet after the incident at another hotel. The first room I had faced the busy road outside, but they happily changed me... More

I stayed at the Lammergeyer Hotel along with my research team on a 6-week project. The environment is rustic but relaxed and comfortable. The managerial and service staff are friendly, extremely helpful, and a pleasure to be around. I enjoyed the affordability, the tasty food, the relaxed atmosphere, and reliable WiFi tremendously. My project is five-years long and I will... More

Our Gondar-based guide recommended the restaurant of this hotel as better and more affordable than Four Sisters, where we'd eaten the night before. We sat out in the garden with a candle — a private spot from which we could see other diners on the other side of hedges/trees as we all listened to music, but we still felt we were... More

We were 3 couples who had a 5 day tour in Ethiopia. We spent one night in Gonder and stayed by Lammergeyer Hotel. The hotel and restaurant staff at this hotel gave us excellent service and served us a really good lunch and breakfast. The local injera dish we had as starter was quite nice and tasty. Actually we judged... More

Basic, small, clean rooms (with the ubiquitous TV that doesn't work, common in Ethiopia) that do the job for a short stay. The patio area is nice and seems to attract the locals for meals and the free WiFi (which is lightening-quick by Ethiopian standards). The property is bit of a hike from the city center, fine during the day,... More

We really enjoyed the Lammergeyer. The rooms were neat, clean and tastefully decorated and the restaurant was great. Both the food and the service were excellent. (As were the prices.) I took advantage of the pretty, peaceful garden out back to wile away the half day before my flight back to Addis reading/returning emails on my iPad. We got the... More

I spent a week at the hotel. The rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. The service was very friendly. The only problem was that in one of the two wings, they would turn off the pump which provided hot water later at night. However they would turn it back on if requested.

Arriving at the Lammergeyer Hotel you sense a buzz about the place...absent in many other hotels and restaurants. Staff are there to serve. Service was very prompt and cheerful. The restaurant/bar spills out into an attactive garden area ideal for chilling out. Food was good. There were many Ethiopians staying at or dining/drinking at the hotel which allowed for conversation... More

This hotel is not in the center of town, but if you can use the blue/white mini-vans the locals use, it is dirt cheap to get back and forth to town. It's only a five minute drive. The rooms were relatively clean and the staff was helpful. And yes it had HOT water. A real nice garden/restaurant makes this a... More
