I really enjoyed my stay at the Okavango Riverlodge, rooms were super rustic but clean!!! After spending a month in the Kalahari Desert was nice to have a real shower! The bar is super fun and its full with locals, we were lucky enough to be there for Independence Day !! we partied the whole night and had so much... More

We were four couples on a camping trip and camped here for one night before our seven day adventure into Moremi, Savuti and Chobe. We booked well in advance and had no complaints about the service. There is a lively bar, but we entertained ourselves at our campsite. The campsite is well positioned on the riverbank, but individual sites are... More

We arrived at this destination looking forward to a hot shower, warm bed and nice meal. The chalets booked did not materialise though. Instead, tents with beds. I could still deal with this, but the tent allocated to me and my grandson, faced an empty swimmingpool filled to the brim with rubbish. No really, I have photo's. The bedding consisted... More

It is not said if these guests booked through an agency or not as we are very clear as to the type of accomodation that is available. It is true that we have an old unused swimming pool which we were busy filling at the time.. not with rubbish... but vegetation. The Pool is now completly filled and covered with... More

We were booked by a booking agency and after asking for a chalet, receiving the vouchers the day we left, were booked in a double tent. The tent was old, shabby and worn, wilt two very old hollow beds and a side table with a reading light (the only light in the tent) and a fan that did not work.... More

This has been taken up directly with agency as the booking between river lodge and the agent was very clear in that it was bedded tents. Kitchen extremely busy as you expect with a full lodge and so orders will take some time as all food is freshly prepared. More

The Okavango River lodge is in a nice location on the river banks outside of Maun. Unfortunately the place is neglected and deteriorating. The campsite and the restaurant have a nice layout, but need a lot of work, the condition of the campsite was actually the worst that we experienced during our three weeks trip through Namibia and Botswana. The... More

We try to make it very clear to guests that okavango river lodge is one of the oldest properties. Therefore buildings are old and tired. As a rented property we try very hard to maintain. In this last week a new booster pump and geysers have been fitted to the campsite ablutions ensuring great pressure and continual hot water. Hot... More

We have stayed at the Okavango River Lodge three times at the start of mobile camping safaris in Botswana. We stayed in a room, not the campground. We love it here and can't wait to come back. The operators are very friendly and make us feel at home. The food is very well done and suits both the meat eater and... More

Good place, but a bit pricey... nice locaton on the river clean and food is good, but there are cheaper in town and without a car it can be a haul... Lots of birds and small mammels.. Bathrooms can get dirty and full of insects at nite

Sandwiched between the river and the road this campsite regularly sees cows trying to sneak their way through to the water. The trees attract a range of birds, but especially the hornbills and the painted tree frogs sound like a thousand wind chimes tinkling of an evening. There are no markings for the pitches, grab the best space you can.... More

Thank you for your review. As previously mentioned new signage is underway. Campsite is being fully serviced next week. Power is not actually included and does cost extra. Wifi has been upgraded. More

We arrived late Saturday afternoon and paid for a campsite for two nights, For starters the signage was poor, faded out and we found it difficult to find "reception in the Bar". After picking a campsite, not properly demarcated, the only watering point ( tap) we could find was in a filthy and disgusting clothing tub at the ablutions. The... More

We have one large campsite and campers can select where they want to camp. We do not have demarcated camp sites. Our water comes from a bore hole and is clear.... I cannot explain why on this day it was dirty. New signage and more water points are in the process of being installed. Hot water is run by gas... More

Sited right on the river, this is a great place if you only care about location. The campsite has everything you need - electricity, water, wifi, ablutions. Also a bar/restaurant and pool. We've seen the accomodations and were glad we were on the campsite as the tents were old, saggy and filthy. Same for ablutions. Management lady only interested in... More
