We stayed for two nights and have to say that Tanna Lodge is the most relaxing place we have ever been. Absolute paradise! The staff were mostly from the local villages and our driver was very informative and told us all we could ask about the island and the lifestyle. Loved the outdoor shower in the oceanfront bungalow!

Tanna island does not have a lot to do as there is barely any form of transport/accomodation. My partner and I stayed here, thinking that it would be a basic but nice 3 star resort (as it was claimed). We were mistaken.. The negatives -breakfast included two pieces of toast and 4 tiny pieces of fruit. -the towels provided smelt... More

The lodge immediately creates a familiar atmosphere. Staff is local and friendly! Bungalows are clean and you get more than you can expect on this very remote island. Food was very expensive though and a soda costs more than a glass of red.....

We had a good rest at Tanna Lodge. We had room at the top of lodge on arrival. We asked if we could move to a beach front villa. Which was much much better. We loved the closeness of the sea and the banging of the waves. Loved talking to the locals and the young ones who are learning and... More

Tanna is an undeveloped Pacific Island. Dusty bumpy roads.and a real remote flavor. This is where Tanna Lodge fits into the environment. The bungalows are locally made, clean and comfortable. They easily accommodated a family of 5. There is nowhere to really eat apart from the hotel. The food is basic, and was fine. Don't expect 5 star dining. The... More

This is a part of vanuatu that many travelers miss, we were so glad we took the extra time and went to visit Tanna island, many locals in Port Villa told us, we were seeing the real Vanuatu. We found the island very remote and isolated from the western world, no local shops where you can get what you want... More

Well I read the reviews for this place and there were mixed reactions from the variety of people who visited here. For us I can say we loved the place! It is a little piece of paradise that is not saturated with tourism traffic. To the people who were negative about Tanna Island and the lodge - some advice, grab... More

As would become clear from just brief research Tanna Island is a very much an island yet to be overwhelmed by the modern world and therefore unsealed, bumpy roads and basic amenities are standard for this location. In this light it is remarkable a place like Tanna Lodge even exists given the level of detail that has gone into building... More

I was rather anxious before my stay here after reading many reviews. The place is certainly rustic but has a real charm to it. We were picked up on time from the airport and driven over the rough dirt roads to this "resort". It took about 20 minutes. After our welcome drink we were shown to our beach-front villa. I... More

I recently went to Tanna to see Mt. Yasur. I booked through Expedia which gave a listing of 3 hotels. 2 were available at the time with Tanna Lodge been the cheapest at 170$ AUD. Unfortunately i didn't do much research and thought these were the only accommodation available on Tanna . There are other types of accommodation here, which... More
