I have to admit I've been very lax in getting around to writing my review of Tanna Lodge... We travelled as a couple and stayed during the 'off' season in March. We were made welcome from the very moment we arrived and were greeted with a refreshing lime juice drink. I had been in contact with Melody to book my... More

Our family of four (2 kids 6 & 9) stayed at Tanna Lodge in April this year (2013). We decided to go to Tanna for 6 nights after a week in Santo. We didn't realise that most people only go to Tanna for a couple of nights until we go there. But we think they're missing out big time. A... More

We spent 2 nights at Tanna Lodge as part of our honeymoon. Whilst some people might consider the rooms to be a bit basic (having read some of the reviews), I thought Tanna Lodge was fantastic and everything we wanted. Great staff, really friendly and superb food. When we arrived, we had planned only to go to Mt Yasur but... More

Stella, mason and the all of the team were great. Always happy and friendly and seemed willing to do anything to make our stay pleasant. The tour to the volcano was fantastic and their quad bike tour to a custom village was awesome fun too....it was so surprising to see how the rest of the island live...so primitive yet so... More

Tanna Lodge is a traditional style of acommodation. We enjoyed our stay on the Island and at the Lodge. We booked a sea view lodge and it was in a lovely location diectly in front of the beach (black sand) not for swimming, some were set back but were all very private. They are basic rooms and could do with... More

Tanna Island is in the middle of a nascent tourism boom. Excess tourism demand pushes up prices and I felt that everything on this island was way overpriced. I am not blaming this hotel alone. The setup was nice with airy reception and dining area that opened out to the pool. When I got there I discovered that my reservation... More

We stayed at Tanna Lodge for three nights of our 11 night trip to Vanuatu, and our time on the island was the highlight of our trip. We really enjoyed the accommodation as it is built in a traditional way but with most modern comforts. The location was flawless: absolute beachfront with the ability to look out onto the volcanic... Beachside bungalows right next to the black (basalt) rocky beach. Friendly and homely accommodation and fantastic hosts! We stayed for three nights, and a trip out to the amazing Mt Yasur Volcano was included in our accommodation. A must visit remote Pacific Island.

How awesome this little Villa is. Our hosts were the friendliest we had in a two week honeymoon in Vanuatu. Location is perfect, scenery is amazing with beachside bungalows a five meter walk to the beach! The food was breathtaking for such a remote island, probably the best in Vanuatu after Chills in Port Villa. We HIGHLY recommend Tanna Lodge... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
On the Island of Tanna, only 35 minutes flying time from Port Vila and a little over one hour flying time from Noumea. Within close proximity to the main town and only 20 minutes drive from the airport. We are established in a very private sheltered bay amongst extensive gardens and lush tropical foliage, on 4 hectares of interestingly contoured land. The site is unique in its topography, including to the rear heavily vegetated cliffs with large scale caves and tunnels, inaccessible other than from the resort. The resort is nestled in a sheltered private bay and fronts directly onto a large area of sand beach enveloped on both sides by interesting rock formations and coral reefs. ... more   less
