We had high expectations and our stay was even better than expected. From the moment we arrived at the airport to checking into our departure flight Julian and his team took care of everything, so we could relax and focus on enjoying the amazon. The level of customer service was exceptionally high. Julian catered the entire itinerary around our interests... More

I don’t know about you, but for me a vacation needs to be more than just a change of scenery and daily activities. In order to truly experience “an escape” from the “oh-too-familiar” day-to-day, I need an organic (not contrived) thought-inspiring experience that challenges me to step outside of my little known universe into…well, something refreshingly different. Yoi Ecolodge offers... More

My friends and I spent five days here in December 2013 as part of a longer trip in Colombia. Our time with the owner, Julian, was the highlight of our three weeks in the country. There were three aspects to our time at the lodge that made it an incredible experience for us. First, and most importantly, the accommodations at... More

We booked Yoi Eco Lodge from our armchairs in London - mainly because it seemed like the one that was the deepest in the 'real' jungle and the owner and guides were English speaking. We were picked up at the airport by Julian (a younger than you'd expect half Dutch / Colombian Zoological graduate from Canada) who naturally spoke perfect... More

This lodge is 2 hours by public boat and then 1 hour on the lodge private boat to get to. You may stop at the local village on the way to pick up fresh fruit, but even that is 30 minutes from the lodge. Go further down the river and there is pure Amazon forest. This is remote. What you... More

I can only echo the sentiments of all previous reviewers. Our 5 day visit was crammed full of unforgettable experiences. You can do as little or as much as you want.....its up to you. I would however recommend listening to julians ideas as he certainly knows where to find the wildlife, the sunsets and the overall jungle experience. he explained... More

My wife and I had a great trip of three days and two nights. Julian gave us a custom itinerary that suited us perfectly. Candlelit dinner with other interesting guests and some of the guides were fun and the food was great.

We stayed for 4 nights Nov/Dec 2013 and wholeheartedly recommend Yoi. The lodge is on a tributary of the Amazon, right in the forest where Julian and his staff have created a beautiful relaxed space, and the perfect base from which to explore. We had a fantastic time. I lost count of the number of new insects, animals, birds and... More

Thank you Julian, Sergio and all the team for a wonderful stay and experience with you. We had the most fantastic time! We found you and the activities informative, extremely knowledgable, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable, providing a great insight into Amazonian life. The lodge itself was beautiful and had everything we needed, and the food was delicious. We will... More

The lodge is situated on the beautiful Amacayacu River, a tributary of the Amazon with access to that awesome "freeway" within an hour, within a few steps of the forest. Cabins have all the basics but (thankfully) no unnecessary luxuries, which would be wholly inappropriate here - it was surprisingly liberating to be offline for six days. Each of up... More
