Is this hotel really #1 in Uyuni??? Although I agree fully with other reviewers that this an incredible property, set in one of the most spectacular settings on this planet, however,I fail to understand why so many people are willing to dismiss the real issues with this hotel and focus solely on its unique beauty as a “Salt Hotel”. Ok,... More

This is a unique hotel in a great location and thankfully far from the dusty, dirty, dog ridden streets of Uyuni. If you get the impression that I was totally unimpressed by Uyuni itself, you are dead right. The town was built as a rail town at the junction of two lines and in no way would you know that... More

As mentioned in other reviews the place itself is great. Walls, Chairs, Tables, Floor, etc. everything is made out of salt. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the view from the hotel to the desert is awesome during sunset. The staff was very helpful during my stay, called my travel agency to check on my driver for the... More

Just to be clear this hotel is not on the salt flats, none of them are. It is about 2 km from the edge of the salt flats. The Good: -good service - good food - well decorated - clean The not so good - You can barely see the salt flats 2 km away, but the sunset view is... More

This hotel is on the edge of the largest Salt Flats in the world, and all the flooring is covered in salt and the building is part build by salt. The accommodation was fine and the staff ok, however the food was something to be desired. Based on a buffet style of hot and cold dishes, which was fine but... More

We loved it here and it certainly lived up to expectations. We arrived at sunset so perhaps we were spoilt. Our room was organised by our tour operator JLA and we were booked into a standard room. I'm not sure whether we were upgraded but our room overlooked the salt flats (admittedly past the kitchen area) whereas those rooms along... More

Loved the unique experience of staying in this salt hotel. We arrived in Uyuni to -3 degrees early in the morning (brrrrrr!). After spending a fantastic day on the salt flats, we arrived in the late afternoon. Check-in was a little chaotic but staff remained calm and friendly. We had an excellent room - good size, warm and comfy (heater... More

Good experience overall. The room was great - could do with another rug or two on the floor, and the salt floor needs a clean. The bathroom was a bit grotty (particularly the shower and it also had a strong sewage smell). The windows don't open though, so it's pretty stuffy and the only place at altitude that I found... Walls, beds and other furniture, all made of salt. The floor is covered with coarsely granulated salt. An almost out of this world experience when added to the natural wonders of the surrounding countryside. The Hotel itself is isolated, out of town. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner were included in our package and were:... More

It was a unique experience to stay in a hotel completely made of salt. From floor to ceiling down to its furnitures. Room are spacious with sufficient heating and electric blankets. Service is efficient except that the wifi only works in the reception area. Food is good too. Hotel has an awesome view of the salar during sunset.
