A stay in this hotel is better than a luxury hotel if one is touring the Salar economically. It prepares one mentally to focus on the adventure ahead. It has fair sized rooms but the shower is not hot or flowing. This is discomforting in winter. The rooms are however secure, the elevator works well and the breakfast is fresh... More

This hotel is fairly basic, the rooms are comfortable but can get very cold during the night so make sure you wrap up warm. The bathrooms are ok but hot showers are hit and miss here. There is complimentary wifi but it wasn't working vey well when we were there. The breakfast was nice and filling. The hotel is at... More

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a G adventures tour. It's a nice hotel. Our room was a good size, very clean and quite new. Bathroom was nice too. Bed was comfortable but the pillow was very hard! Staff were fairly friendly. Breakfast was included and was ok- nothing special but handy all the same. Wifi works in... More

a 10 minute walk from the 'centre' of town. The rooms are small but functional. There's wifi in the public areas (but it is slow, as is to be expected from a hotel in a remote area). The breakfast is decent (but nothing to write home about). The staff was helpful. Overall recommended for a stay as you will not... More

I stayed one night at this hotel in November 2014. My room was clean and comfortable. Wifi worked most of the time. There was always hot water for a warm shower. There is no elevator, so you have to haul your own luggage up the stairs to your room. It seems this hotel is a family business. The house was... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night during November 2014.   The hotel is located 10 minutes on foot from Uyuni's centre.  The rooms that we were given was quite big and it was very clean when compared to the other hotels we stayed in Bolivia.  Wifi from our rooms was also acceptable. The breakfast consisted of bread, crackers, biscuits,... More

I stayed in Hotel Samay Wasi for one night before beginning my Salt Flats tour, and was happy with the experience overall. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Uyuni, about a 10 minute walk to the centre of the small town. The rooms are not huge, but space was more than sufficient for what we needed. The beds... This hotel is in the middle of a ghost town so the accommodation is pretty good for its location! During the day the hotel is pretty cold (it's late July) but at night they turn on the heater and it was actually cozy. The breakfast is one of the best I've had in the last month traveling through South America!... More

I think you have to remember this is Bolivia, they are a pretty underdeveloped country and so you pay for what you get. The breakfast was simple (as it is everywhere in Bolivia), cold meats, yogurt, cereal, bread, jam etc. A good selection and as much as you wanted. The drawback to breakfast is it is on the bottom floor... More

Pros: - None Cons: - At the outskirts of Uyuni - The restaurant/breakfast room is located at a patio of the hotel, where all the room doors also are. This means that the noise from people having breakfast can be clearly heard in the room. The noise also resounds within the hotel. - Very limited breakfast: only marmelade and no... More
