Christophe runs an amazing hotel. First of all, it is incredibly stylish. It's decorated in a very modern way, and incorporates pieces of the old train yard in the rooms to great effect. The wifi is good. The AC is the best I saw in Bolivia. Dual zone for the bathroom and bedroom, holy crap! He went out of his... More

After having braved the cold, uncomfortable, very basic "hotels" of the area I suspected I was in for more when I stood in front of the very basic and unpretentious " little door" Once inside however ifelt like I had entered heaven. Comfortable well heated rooms. Beautiful design. Great shower with plenty of hot water. Great Breakfast. WIFI which is... More

This hotel looks very basic from the outside, but it is truly an oasis in what is a desolate, cold and dusty town in the middle of nowhere. The room was stylish, and the French owner has obviously put a lot of effort into the details. What I loved most was that it was warm, and had a fantastic shower.... More

You cannot appreciate this small oasis of human civilization more than after spending a couple of days on the salar and national park. With only basic to very basic accommodations, low to extremely low temperatures this small B&B feels like another world. As far as we could discover there is nothing like it in this messy town and surroundings. There... More

Christophe had been organised and efficient in the booking and this continued throughout my stay. Like many (I suspect) I arrived after an amazing tour, feeling tired and frazzled. Christophe has it so sorted, helpful and enthusiastic. Rooms are of a superb standard and so inviting. Wi-Fi good (however Bolivian service providers have issues generally and usually the hotels are... More

We had planned to stay here one night, but unfortunately when we arrived at this hotel in January there was horrible flooding and we were not able to stay there. I still wanted to write a review recommending this hotel based on the wonderful experience we had with the owner. When we arrived, he explained the damage and took us... More

I highly reccomend the La Petite Porte. There are only four units so you'll need to book well in advance but the great thing is that they have their own website and Christophe is very good at replying to emails in a timely manner. Contact him directly and things will go very smoothly. The rooms were great, breakfast delightful and... More

Very charming place with a great service, helpful staff, comfortable beds with clean toilets and towels. Location is a bit far but not a big issue and it is good value for money. Yeah as the prior reviews said you have book in advance since it is a small place wih limited rooms.

a little difficult for taxi to find the place but once we did we were welcomed into a calm oasis in the middle of this concrete and barren looking place not many rooms so we were extremely lucky to get availability - christophe was great in responding several weeks before arriving and was super friendly when we met in person... We spent a night at La Petite Porte prior to the start of our Salt Flat tour. Christophe the owner greeted us - he is warm and energetic. The place is absolutely charming; the rooms are tastefully and stylishly decorated. You can select what you'd like for breakfast and whether you'd like to have it in your room or in... More

Thanks for all the good things you wrote about La Petite Porte. About the downsides, I have to say that matresses have been changed last week (19/01/14). The hotel is not at the far end of the town. We are 3 blocks from the city center. That's right that the lighting in the street is not the best. But I... More
