Unfortunately, there is very little choice when it comes to finding a warm, comfortable hotel in Uyuni. There are heaters in the rooms in Hotel Julia but they are only turned for a very short period each day; not ideal when temperatures can reach as low as -10C! After 3 days in the desert, living in the most basic of... More

Had a double room for 300 bolivianos. The room was big, but freezing cold as the heating did not work. We ended up sleeping under a lot of blankets and barely able to move. It did not look very clean, the rubbish bin in the bathroom was not emptied. The staff was OK when we arrived, there was no one... More

Room constantly cold, shower broken and just a line of cold water, toilet also broken. All of of which the manager (rudest man in Bolivia) said was our fault and continued to shout at us because of it. We later saw him fixing said faults. He was just vile. Not worth the money at all. Would not recommend at all.... More

We paid 300 bolivianos for a private room after a long 4 day salt flat tour, hoping for a bit of luxury for a night. We did not receive it. They told us there would be hot water, there was not. The room was freezing until they turned the heating on at night hours after it was freezing cold, the... More

Due to a bus strike, we had to stay overnight in Uyuni and this is the place. It's a bit costly, but rooms are nice and quiet on the higher floors, and the shower has fantastically hot water. They have wifi which is reasonably fast, certainly better than anything you'll get say via a data plan with Entel. The interior... More

Well, we looked for an accomodation for one night and did not have a reservation, so we just got there. Not very charming interior, not very charming place at all. We had a room without private bathroom, and the public shower/toilet was okay. Breakfast was quite good, more than we expected.

Hotel Julia is right across the street from the train station and about 3.5 blocks from Panasur bus drop-off. An easy flat walk. Hotel Julia is located right around the corner from the pedestrian walkway along which most of the restaurants, Salar tour agencies, internet cafes, etc seem to be located. This walkway is also the most pleasant place to... More

As others have said, the front desk is not the friendliest and the rooms are a little dingy, but the rooms are warm at night (there is a heater in the room that turns on automatically), the water is hot, and wifi worked in the room most of the time that I was there—all rarities in Uyuni. I stored my... More

Like many other people, we had taken a long bus trip to Uyuni in order to start a 3 day Salar trip the following day. My wife and I needed a hotel that met our basic criteria. We checked out the Tonito hotel first. My wife was shown 2 very musty rooms with soiled, torn carpeting. We were next shown... More
