We stayed for one night. The room had an igloo shaped dome ceiling mad of salt bricks. A very nice place, built out of salt. Breakfast and a buffet dinner was included, which was a bonus. The hotel staff were very friendly and the food was good. The WiFi in the bedroom worked well. The hotel is located, almost on... More

The hotel was very unusual, being constructed almost entirely of salt, and yet it was beautiful. It was spacious and airy and the rooms, though small, were charming and fun. The food was excellent and the staff were all lovely. We loved our stay here. BUT don't bother with the 'cocktail bar' We spent ages trying to decide what to... More

The staff is extremely accommodating and it is surprisingly a very comfortable hotel despite its limited power supply, extreme weather conditions in the area and remote location. The food was superb. The staff prepared chicken cooked solely with salt and a few spices.

To be sure, a hotel made out of salt could be construed as "gimmicky". That being said, it is an excellent hotel in its own right. First, the architecture is stunning. The rooms look like the inside of an igloo, which is a unique feature in what is essentially desert. More importantly, they were clean and well-furnished. Being there in... More

The elegant Palacio del Sal sits on the edge of the vast Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia. It is an extraordinary location. The hotel is build of salt bricks and in the bedrooms you can lie on your bed and stare up at the igloo-like salt brick dome which most of the rooms have. The decor is elegant and modern... More

If the visit to the Salt Flats in Uyuni was a unique experience, the stay at the Palacio de Sal was the cherry on the top!! After quite the journey to get there, one is rewarded with a feast for the eyes! The Hotel, built primarily from Salt Bricks or Salar was extraordinary to say the least! The decor, the... More

This spectacular hotel is a surprise after a long day driving through the Salar de Uyuni. Built entirely of salt, the walls, floors and furniture are fine examples of what can be done with blocks cut from the Salar. The ceiling of our room was a dome of salt blocks - very cool to look at from the bed! Our... More

I went to Uyuni as I was in Bolivia for a meeting. I had read about the salt lake and took this opportunity to visit it. We have to take a 50 minutes flight from La Paz to Uyuni. We reached here early morning to a temperature of -3 C .the crisp air hit us as we got out of... More

After a bad hotel experience in Potosi, this was just what we needed. The hotel is beautiful and unique, made of salt. While the outer areas were chilly, there are heaters throughout and the electric blankets were wonderful. We were worried about hot water as a large group left just before we got up. It was not a problem. I... More

The hotel looks beautiful no doubt but it is not worth the hassle. They do not accept credit card but do not warn you until checkout and since it cost 90US $ to go to the city and back just to go to an ATM that is more than annoying. moreover if you ask for a cab you have to... More
