I've read several reviews with negative experiences. This hotel is constructed and decorated by salt formations in an isolated area of a developing country. Bring Bolivianos to pay for your stay. If you're expecting all the creature comforts and services of a luxury hotel in an urban center, you will be disappointed. If you're expecting a one-of-a-kind experience with a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique hotel constructed partially of salt blocks. The hotel makes up for a few quirks with its unique location and ambiance. Positives: There is an odd feeling of sophistication or luxury at this outpost hotel located on the fringe of the salt flat. Frankly, it is a destination in its own right. I... More

As part of our tour of Bolivia we stayed one night here. It was certainly novel. It's light and airy, with lots of 'corridor' space where you can sit and talk or read. A nice respite. The restaurant and food were fine, as good as any other hotel we ate in. You don't really go to Bolivia for the cuisine.... More

If you have the opportunity to visit the Salar de Uyuni, I would highly recommend this hotel. It sits right on the edge of the salar in the middle of nowhere, but that's one of the reasons why it is spectacular. The hotel is nicely furnished, the staff is very friendly, and the food was delicious! The hotel is made... More

Although I had read about this hotel before coming to Bolivia, I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. It really was 4-5 star luxury despite being made of salt and in such an isolated location. I didn't look too closely at the detail but overall it ticked all the boxes for us - comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms,... More

My girlfriend and I broke budget to stay here, and have no regrets. We organised our trip through their website (palaciodesal.com.bo) and our contact, Pedro, was very helpful. He created a 3 day itinerary for us and was very accommodating when we needed to change certain details. He even changed dates at the last minute and arranged for a night... More

The Uyuni salt flats are one of the world's amazing places and this is really the place to stay should you be visiting for more than one day. It is, of course, built of salt. Nothing much to look at from the outside but inside beautifully designed, spacious, airy and filled with artworks (also made of salt). There is a... More

Very beautiful hotel, built largely from salt, very stylish. The room was quite nice and very clean, and the food excellent. The hotel has an upstairs room with a telescope, from which you can view the sunset over the Salar. My grandson and I spent time playing pool and darts as well, which was a lot of fun. The hotel... The place is gorgeous & lobby is definitely worth the 4 star rating, rooms are small but made from salt. The MAIN ISSUE is that this hotel told us after arrival that they do not allow credit card to pay for rooms or dinner (hotel is isolated 45 minutes from nearest town). We were leaving first thing in the morning... More
