I realise that 70B for a double room is unbelievably cheap but the owner is what really lets this place down. Stayed for 3 nights as we were stranded in Tupiza because of the Uyuni strikes. Had a double room - no heating as expected try and get a room facing the sun as bitterly cold in the shade at... More

I stayed here for two nights. I checked out on time on my final day. My bus wasn't for forty minutes so I sat down in reception to wait for it, rather than waiting in the bus station. I was aggressively informed that I had to leave the premises and wasn't allowed to sit there for forty minutes. It was... More

I stayed in a private room for two nights and found the place to be fairly decent. The staff are friendly and showed me the various lodging options throughout the place when I arrived. I opted for a private without bathroom (50 bolivianos) and it was very comfortable. The hostel is well located in the centre on the main road... More

I checked in to this hostel in the afternoon because it was raining. The hostel offered me a dorm bed (3 beds) for 35 Bs. I bargained for 30 Bs. The owner accepted my counter offer, but he assigned me to a room on the highest floor (actually, there were not much residents in the hostel at that time). I... More

We just stayed 2/3 nights in this hostel. We arrived very early in the morning with the train from uyuni and one of the staff gave us a flyer at the train station. Because we were tired and we just wanted to get a bed we went there and took a look. The double bed room was really comfortable and... More

http://www.hostalpedroarraya.com/ We chose this hostel in Tupiza because it looked like one of the cheaper but good value family-run hostels. The room had excellent hot water, but was generally quite cold without heating in winter. Unfortunately the staff were also very rude, and apparently inexperienced in customer service. Breakfast was stale bread without marmalade, and coffee without milk. When we... More
