Excellent place to stay.We had booked all the rooms (5) .They were all well equipped, clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating The bar was a delight,it was like being taken back 100 years, real fires ,real beer straight from the barrel and real people in the bar.Very welcoming. Breakfast was good try the eggs Benedict.

Lovely, comfortable, contemporary accommodation attached to a traditional, no music, no gambling machines and no bar taps (bottled or casked ales and cider) pub serving wonderful first class food! We had dinner there and a lovely breakfast.....what s not to like?

Cosy and welcoming with friendly and helpful staff. Great choice of ales and food (especially the yummy Huffers)! Our dog was welcome and loved the fuss from the customers. A really wonderful, chilled afternoon spent here with great company, food and beer. Haven't stayed in the B&B myself but my parents have and they couldn't fault their room for comfort... More

Really nice pub in a building with character, with great open fires, in the proverbial middle of nowhere which means its lovely and quiet in a nice countryside setting. The people running it are really friendly. The rooms are a separate to the main pub and are very well appointed for a pub B&B. Excellent wet room / shower. Very... More

We stopped there for lunch on New Year's Day. This is all that an English pub should be - in a village, not too large, traditional decor, roaring fire and then a hearty welcome with smashing craft beers and wholesome home made food. All family owned - with pride; not a sign of a chain or franchise for miles around... More

This is a real ale pub with a cosy, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food and service are both excellent. /Huffers ( large circular bread) are available with a large range of hot or cold fillings. Hot meals include delicious curry, fish, beef and ale pie as well as other favourites. Limited accommodation is available (BOOK!). Loved by walkers, cyclist... More

The room was spotlessly clean and very warm on this cold and windy night, the under-floor heating being an especially welcome feature. The bathroom seemed recently updated. The rooms are set away from the road and the entry to the pub, hence very quiet and perfect for our 17-month-old. The inn is on a tiny lane with ample access to... More

This is possibly the friendliest pub / b mad b I have ever drank in. Only stayed one night as we were heading off to a wedding. The room was spotless, the pints and food were seriously tasty. They have their own brewery which has been in the family for over 200 years. The staff and the the local made... More

We stayed at the compasses for a night while attending a wedding at Leez Priory. We left wishing we could have stayed longer! The rooms are like little chalets off to the side of the pub. They're superbly decorated, really airy bright and welcoming. We stayed in the witchfinder, which was spotlessy clean. The bathroom is modern and has a... More

We stayed for one night and the place is brimming with friendliness from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. It was perfect for us as my husband has limited mobility and room called Old Bob could not have been better!! The people who run this place go the extra mile in my book. Oh, did I mention... More
