This small guesthouse really is very special. It is situated in a stunning scenery. You have to walk the last couple of hundreds of meters to get there, which also secures the silence and the peace you find, once there. The guesthouse and a small museum right next door describing ancient berber housing and way of living, is run be... More

Having driven through the mountains not feeling too great we came to look and loved the peaceful location of this Maison d'hote. happily there was a room available and we walked back for our bags -don't bring lots because its a fair walk which made it all the more interesting to us especially the next night when we did it... Rachid and his young family are running a superb little guest house in a truly idyllic setting, backed by the granite wall of the Anti-Atlas mountains. The rocks glow pink in the dying rays of the sun, the muezzin's call floats across the valley and the glorious smell of great home-cooked food fills you with anticipation at the end of... More

So glad we stayed here instead of dusty and noisey Tafraoute! We stayed 3 nights, and Maison Traditionelle was a scenic and comfortable base for exploring the stunning villages strung along the valley. The location is perfect for families with children. There is a lot to see and do -- a museum next door also run by the family and... More

WE stayed two nights at La Maison Traditionelle, and we liked it because it was a people-to-people experience. None of the staff spoke English, so there was a lot of hand gesturing (when our guide was not there). The accommodations are clean and basis (nothing fancy), but remember, this is in the middle of a rural area in the Anti... More

Driving to this place an extra special treat as it was located off of the main road. And once parked, helpers assist w/ luggage as you walk about 300m. But the real joy is seeing Abdel's place sitting at the base of the rocky-ridge. The setting is amazing. And it's gets better once you make it to the terrace -... More

We booked in for three nights in early March 2014. Despite an initial tiny problem with the booking (the hotel hadn't confirmed by e mail so weren't expecting us) we had a wonderful stay. The family running the place also run the small museum next door which is well worth a visit; an insight into how the Berber's lived in... More

Took a day out from Tafraout to visit this Berber Museum. What a wonderful place. We were shown around the house by Abdel - a delightful and entertaining young man who certainly knew all about Berber traditions. He gave us a fascinating insight into how life was lived in days gone past. We met Abdel's father, who created the museum,... More
