This hotel was a lovely surprise, an oasis in the middle of a city. Charming bungalows set within a lovely garden. The hotel staff are helpful and the food was some of the best we had in Madagascar. The menu was in French but one of the waiters helped us translate. As it can be cool in the evening, a... More

This was my favourite hotel of the whole trip, and that takes some doing, considering the natural beauty some of the others have surrounding them. It was also by far the best value for money we had anywhere. Couleur Cafe is very much close to the middle of the city and a complete surprise once you enter the gates. It's... More

Second stay in 2 years. Still very charming place with positive changes since last time with improved decoration and new appliances in the room. Very comfortable bed and a wonderfully quiet environment. Staff always very friendly and effective. The wide choice of pastries and home-made marmelade at breakfast is unique. Food is great at dinner, enhanced by a beautiful fire... More

We stayed 1 night on our way through and were pleasantly surprised at both the lodgings and restaurant. The chalet was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only downside to the room was the shower which was not deep enough and therefore water went all over the floor. There was no fan, air conditioner or mosquito net but none were needed.... More

Out of several high end hotels we visited in Mada, this was easily the one with the most stunning rooms. Service is excellent as well. Little minus was that the breakfast was continental (read "French", read "only sweet stuff" ) only.

Antsirabe made for a good overnight stop on the trip between Ranomafana NP and Andasibe-Mantadia NP (Perinet). These one-room villas are nicely arranged in a beautiful garden. Our villa was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a high, vaulted, wooden-beamed ceiling. There are no mosquito nets or fans, but electric mosquito repellants are provided and the room was cool. The bathroom... More

The hotel is owned by a Magalasy-French couple who are very friendly. My colleague and I stayed here for one night whilst travelling through Antsirabe. Pulling into Couleur Cafe is like taking a breath of fresh air - the lovely gardens, the big bungalow room, and the wonderful food all make this a restful place to stay. For dining options,... More

Nice rooms with good internet. The bed was good but the comforter was too heavy and stiff to get a good nights sleep. Good restaurant for dinner but the breakfast was near the bottom of our 7 week Africa trip - charged us for eggs. An adaquate place to stay with nice grounds, but the two negatives are hard to... I stayed in Couleur Cafe only for one night after a long day in some remote villages. Sadly, I arrived after dark and left early the next morning, so only saw the garden in the daylight as I was preparing to leave - but it is lovely! The rooms are quite spacious. I appreciate the quiet and calm afforded by... More

We stayed at the Couleur Cafe one night as a stop-over on our journey south. Of all the towns / cities we saw in Madagascar, Antsirabe is probably the most interesting to visit. Our room - in a little cabin quite close to the reception area - was comfortable & decorated in an attractive, sparse style. No drawers or hanging... More
