This is a small hotel in an old French colonial building that is reasonably maintained (especially for Malagasy standards) but it could still do with some upgrading. There are only a few rooms so reservations are recommended. It is centrally located and has its own restaurant (managed separately) where we had dinner once and that was ok but we preferred... More

Rooms with character - high ceilings, wooden floors and stairs - but equipped with mod-cons (good shower, TV, kettle & wi-fi - which was not working during our over-night stay) - central location, set slightly back from the road so fairly quiet. Good restaurant, although it would be even better if they lit the fire, and some old colonial memorabilia... More

We thought there would be a draw to staying in a old colonial hotel but we have very little positive feedback for this hotel. Pros: Good wifi connection in room (a rarity in Madagascar) Reasonably comfortable beds (for Madagascar) Cons: Dusty and smoky rooms (a problem for those with allergies) Still a cold room at night However, the worst part... I like the Trianon quite a bit -- good value (63,500-87,500 AR per room), and great charm -- sparse but interesting decor, high ceilings, lots of hard wood -- and my family and I have stayed there twice. The food is good, both breakfast and dinner, though the main restaurant is managed separately from the hotel and breakfast room. The... More

Loved our stay at le trianon. Room was comfortable and cosy and the food in the restaurant great. Loved the very French atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's in a good location close to many shops and other restaurants. Would stay here again.

Not in the main part of town but a good location at that. Big rooms although bathroom a little on small side. Lovely charm and feel to hotel. The old colonial posters are great in the reception. Friendly staff who helped every need even with our pigeon French!

Very clean, basic room. The bathroom was fine with a hot running water. The staff were excellent very helpful and friendly. The spoke all spoke French fluently. The breakfast was good. Again basic but certainly did the job for the money. The restaurant was was good. We had pizza which was really very enjoyable. I think overall it was exceptionally... More

I'm giving it 4 stars because, despite a few quirks, it was great value for money. A small but charming room (No. 5) with 4 poster bed for only 20 euros per night. The room was clean and simple but quite dark due to being on the ground floor and under a large terrace. The bathroom was fairly basic but... More

I reviewed the Hasina before. Le Trianon is about 50% more expensive and 200% more charming. Nice rooms, far above average breakfast, friendly personal, sunny terrace. Although the restaurant may not totally meet what it and the menu trie to promise, there is the very friendly and excellent Razafimamonjy across the street and the equally good and popular (with bar,...
