This hotel is absolutely fantastic, starting from the very nice managers to the kind employees. We had the most incredible experience in our lives thanks to Belmond Safari. Food and the delicious wines also added value to the great stay we has. Also the game drives and helicopter tour was amazing. Thanks for everything Magda, Natie and Rock!

This safari lodge really is in the middle of nowhere - for us tourists the only way in or out is by way of a tiny (6 to 10 seater) prop-plane or, if you have the money, by private helicopter. There is a dirt road which serves the traditional village about a mile away with goods sent every week or... More

My husband and I were here for 3 days, and really enjoyed the lodge, especially the elephants and hippos right out in front of the tents. This was on the "resort" end of the tent resort spectrum, the tents had really nice furnishings and services. The guides were excellent and the way they communicated with each other by radio made... This is the property that Belmond forgot about. We enjoyed the people, they are doing the best with what they have. The facility was built in 1969 --- and it shows. The food was average. We were at a luxury safari before this -- Ngala Private Game Reserve so we arrived with high expectations. We were accustomed to a new... More

Dear Derrick, Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback on your recent stay at Khwai River Lodge. The lodge indeed has a quite a story to tell, having been built originally as a hunting lodge! Thank you for your complements on our staff, they have been with the company for many many years. Orient-Express (now Belmond)... More

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights with an organized tour. The Khwai River Lodge is simply outstanding. The camp is located right in the game reserve so you don't have to go far to see the animals. Elephants, Hippos, Antelope and wild dogs were some of the ones we could see from our tent. We saw many others... More

Quite interesting for us since our first safaris were in India. Their Taj safari lodges are opulent so we were a bit surprised that this lodge was an Orient Express property but not of the same calibur. However the lodge had AC, was roomy, and had a desk and sitting area with a minibar and safe and best of all,... More

My husband, 9 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at the Khwai River Lodge. This tented bush camp is set deep within the flood plains of the lush Moremi Wildlife Reserve. The accommodations were cozy and clean and the food surprisingly simple and thus very good. We loved experiencing such a wide variety of animal life... More

Very comfortable tented lodges. Food was good but not 'amazing', the dinning area lacked character and was cramped especially when there is a large tour group (20+ staying). A tour group apparently stay weekly and we felt their presence during our stay negatively impacted on the ambience of the camp (they were not there for our 1st night). We enjoyed... More

Spent four days at the Khwai River Lodge last week. I truly did not want to leave. The accommodations were more comfortable than I expected; the food was excellent; the staff could not be more accommodating....and Onx was wonderful in his dual-role as one of the lodge managers as well as being a world-class bush guide. I am convinced there... More

We have been planning our once in a lifetime safari for over a year and have been checking the Tripadvisor reviews every now and then. Reading a negative review just days before arrival really had us worried that maybe we should have gone somewhere else. Imagine our apprehension when we were allocated Ness as our guide after reading that he... More
