I spent many days and nights at this Hotel during the 2002-2005 and while assigned to Venezuela for work. I remember that the hotel was usually full with families. The pool was packed and the service (although it was never a 5 star hotel) was good. The hotel was very good from all perspectives... good food, good access to fine... More

Just stayed in this hotel for one night, for office party. - Old building, dark, lamp is not functions, water shower flowing very small. - No towel when entering the room, called front desk, and they said it is normal, they reply will provide "immediately". Waiting for 30 minutes, called again the front desk, replied the same answer and ask... More

It is with a heavy heart that I write this and read the reviews. The Maremares was my second home from its opening until recently. (Venezuela was my second home since 1988). I always felt safe and comfortable even as a female staying there alone. Things worked; it was beautiful. It was a happy place. I knew all the staff... More

I have stayed here several times over the last two years and the service has become worse and worse. Some of the lows on this trip include: a lighter stolen from my room, failing to iron clothes left on Tuesday morning in time for a Friday morning meeting, and failing to return clothes marked for Express laundry service until two... Getting a reservation in this hotel is great accomplishment; their reservation department does not answer the phone. There is no online reservation page and you will be lucky if they answer the emails. Although the hotel looks like it had its glorious time with nice facilities, the overall place is mediocre. Half of their staff give the impression that they... More

This hotel is rated as average because of the service. The hotel is government operated.

Check in and check out are a nightmare! Long waiting for no explainable reasons. The room key card need to be coded twice a day! Raining in the room! Rooms near the pool are very noisy. Only one restaurant: dirty and poor quality of food.

Reluctantly, we went to Barcelona area for business. Our local contact told us this was the best around. Get ready for bad rooms, no hot water, no TV, etc. This place probably used to be 5 star resort prior to govt takeover. Clearly have not spent any money on this hotel in many years. It is a really big sprawling... More
